Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan) novel Chapter 3341

"Adrian's really doing it, huh? Marrying the Lamont girl, becoming the Chambers family's golden boy. Even Grandpa can't stop grinning! Man, why don't we have that kind of luck?"

"If you married the Lamont heiress, you could replace Adrian as the heir!" someone else teased.

Travis Chambers sneered. "You guys treat her like a treasure, but to me, she's just a slut. Trying to marry Adrian while hooking up with the CEO of the Hanson Corporation on the side."

Everyone froze. "How do you know?" a man asked.

"I saw it with my own eyes. At Grandpa's birthday banquet, Norah and Gonzalez were all over each other," Travis sneered. "Adrian's so damn happy, but Norah's been making a fool out of him this whole time!"

The others gasped. "Ms. Lamont looks so innocent and sweet. How could she..."

Travis held a bitter grudge because Norah had embarrassed him, and he was intensely jealous of Adrian. His tone grew even more acidic. "The pure-looking ones are always the biggest freaks in bed. Those sheltered little princesses are the wildest rides!"

*Crash!*

The door was kicked open. Travis flinched, and before he could even process who had walked in, a heavy fist smashed into his face.

The brutal blow fractured his nose. His head rang violently, the wind completely knocked out of him.

The tall man radiating a lethal, predatory chill stepped in. His strikes were merciless. Travis's vision blurred, and he could only watch helplessly as his cousins were kicked so hard they couldn't even stand.

While waiting for the elevator, Norah heard bloodcurdling screams coming from a nearby room. Startled, she immediately turned, pushed the door open, and froze.

Four or five men lay groaning on the floor. Gonzalez was grabbing Travis by the hair, slamming his head violently against the wall. Blood smeared across the pristine white paint.

"Gonzalez!" she screamed in horror.

The man's towering frame stiffened. He let go of Travis and turned to Norah. His eyes were bloodshot, looking as though he had completely lost his mind.

Norah was terrified by the raw violence radiating from him.

Hearing chaotic footsteps approaching down the hall, she rushed forward, grabbed Gonzalez's hand, and pulled him across the corridor. She hit the button for the waiting elevator and dragged him inside.

A wave of delayed panic washed over her, making her snap. "What I do is none of your business! If you don't want to become the monster Hannah claims you are, you need to control yourself! If you kill someone, no one will be able to save you!"

Gonzalez didn't explain. He didn't argue. He just looked at her, his voice devoid of emotion. "You're right. How could someone like me ever compare to a perfect guy like Adrian?"

Norah was furious. "Glad you know!"

The light instantly vanished from Gonzalez's eyes, leaving behind a bottomless abyss. He was no longer Xavier. Ultimately, he couldn't make her fall for him again.

He never should have come back as Gonzalez Hanson. Even the persona of Xavier should have faded from this world a long time ago.

"I'm sorry, Norah."

His voice was gravelly, his striking features shadowed in the dim light. He turned and walked toward his car.

Watching his solitary, desolate silhouette fade into the night, a sharp ache seized her chest.
