Carson casually straightened up, offered a faint smile and a nod of greeting to Lucy, and stepped into the elevator, holding Marina's hand.

Marina's cheeks were burning hot. Sure enough, her skin wasn't nearly as thick as a certain someone's!

Lucy's voice was sweet and bubbly. "Are you guys heading out?"

Marina smiled warmly and nodded. "Going to get some food."

Lucy's eyes lit up with excitement. "I'm going out to eat too! I just finished my livestream and didn't feel like cooking. There's a really good Western restaurant nearby. Could we go together?"

Marina was just trying to think of a polite way to decline when she heard Carson's flat voice cut in. "No. Sorry, but tonight I only want to have dinner with my girlfriend."

The sheer bluntness of his words made Lucy flush red with embarrassment. She offered an awkward smile. "Sorry about that."

Once they were out of the elevator and Carson was leading Marina to find his car, Marina finally spoke up. "Wasn't that a bit too direct?"

Carson's tone remained indifferent. "Knowing we're a couple and still inappropriately asking to join us for dinner—if it wasn't intentional, then she's completely clueless. Either way, she needed to learn her lesson!"

Marina raised an eyebrow and slowly nodded. "You make... a fair point."

Carson chuckled low. "Could you be a little more sensitive when it comes to me?"

Marina looked at him, bewildered. "What?"

Carson grabbed her hand, pinning her gently against the car door, narrowing his eyes at her. "Next time something like this happens, I want you to reject them immediately. Defend your territory!"

Marina pursed her lips into a smile, her stunning features looking striking and confident. "My territorial claims are nothing compared to Mr. Foster's self-awareness."

"So, are you satisfied with my performance today?" the man asked.

Marina's eyes danced with amusement. "It was acceptable!"

"Then I'm claiming my reward!" As soon as the words left his mouth, Carson dipped his head and captured the girl's lips, resuming the eager desires that had been interrupted earlier.

It wasn't until Friday afternoon that Summer called Marina again. "Come hang out tonight! Sean Shepherd is back in town, and he organized a class reunion."

Hearing Sean's name, Marina was somewhat surprised. "The year hasn't ended yet, why is he back?"

Sean was their high school classmate. He had gone to university in B City and stayed there after graduation.

"I heard he was on a business trip to a neighboring city and found some time to swing by. There's a lot of people coming to this reunion. Even our old homeroom teacher is showing up. Did he really not let you know?" Summer found it strange.

Marina scoffed. "He's probably scared I'll expose all his embarrassing secrets from back in school!"

Summer laughed. "Then you definitely have to come and give him a scare!"

Hearing that their homeroom teacher, Mr. Coleman, was also attending, Marina agreed immediately. "I have to work late, so I'll be there a bit later. If you see Mr. Coleman, please let him know for me."

"No problem," Summer agreed happily.
