His Awesome Ex Is Now Uncle’s Lady
Chapter 36 Everything Would Go His Way
Austin caught up to Alicia from behind, grabbing her hand. “Running away?”
Alicia gently thumped a fist against his chest. “It’s your fault for going crazy on the plane.”
He didn’t seem to mind her attack. Instead, he looked indulgent. “Does this mean you like it?”
“Idiot!”

Her ears stayed red all the way to the airport gates. The cold air hit her, and she sneezed. Right. She had been so focused on chasing him, she hadn’t packed a thing, not even thinking that her destination was in the chilly side of the world.
She was still in a thin dress when Austin draped a black coat over her shoulders. The warmth of the wool instantly cut through the biting cold.
“You weren’t prepared at all,” he commented. “That’s not like you.”
Alicia felt a little embarrassed. “I was busy chasing after you. There was no time to go home and pack.”
He let out a low chuckle. “Alicia, I’m actually easy to catch.”
Easy to catch? He was the most unpredictable man she had ever met, temperamental as a storm and stubborn as a mule.
Of course, she could only think that.
Their car arrived. Austin acted like a proper gentleman, helping her in and taking her to the hotel.
After sweating so much on the plane, the first thing she did was jump in the shower.
Almost immediately, his assistant delivered a pile of women’s clothing.
Austin coolly instructed, “Percy, shorten the trip to one day. Switch all meetings to online.”
He glanced at his watch. “Schedule the next meeting in fifteen minutes.”
Percy Harbor, Austin’s assistant, was used to his boss’ habit of changing plans on a whim. “Understood. Should we move the return flight up?”
“No need. The next three days are my private time. Arrange for sightseeing and accommodations.”
Percy soon caught on. His workaholic boss was finally taking steps to spend time with Alicia.
“I’ll get started.”
Alicia stripped off her clothes and noticed the hickey all over her body. Thinking about the thrilling and secretive moments on the plane made her cheeks burn.
They had almost gone too far.

Tonight, she knew, he wouldn’t let her off the hook.

Alicia didn’t really understand Austin. Sometimes, he seemed very interested. The next moment, he’d pull
away.
However, when they landed, he seemed in a good mood. If he stayed like this, the next few days could cement their relationship.
She pumped herself up. She just needed one last push, and she would win him over!
She enjoyed a long bath and emerged wrapped in a plush robe.
Seeing Austin at the desk, she assumed he was checking stocks. She cooed, “Austin, I’m done with my shower…”
Little did she know how shocking her words were. The microphone picked up her sultry voice and broadcast it to everyone in the meeting.
Austin had the camera off. Only her voice could be hurt. She was an unseen but unmistakable presence.
Still unaware of the disaster, she straddled his lap, her hands on his neck, and whispered with suggestive undertones, “It’s really late.”
Though he enjoyed her boldness, he didn’t want others to hear her. He calmly warned, “I have a meeting tonight. Go to bed.”
A meeting?
Alicia froze. That’s when she noticed the Bluetooth headset in Austin’s ear.
Her gaze instinctively flicked to the screen.
One look, and her world collapsed.
Oh no! How could she make such a rookie mistake?
What now?
Was there an interdimensional portal somewhere? Could she get to Mars in time?
She curled her toes inside her slippers, digging into the floor,
Austin coolly barked out, “Let’s continue.”
Alicia realized the camera was not on. Things weren’t as bad as she feared. She bolted, diving under the
covers in a rush.
Austin watched her wriggling under the blanket like a little worm, a smirk tugging at his lips.
The meeting dragged on so long that Alicia fell asleep.
