Seraphina’s voice was nonchalant. “It’s okay.”
It meant still not impressed.

Celestine chuckled awkwardly. “No worries. We’ve got plenty to choose from. You can take your time-your father and I already picked some really great pieces.”
“They’re average,” Seraphina replied, just as flatly. Oof.
Gregory and Celestine exchanged a quick look. Their daughter was… particular. And clearly had a thing against this brand.
Viola caught the tension and knew it was her time to shine.
She walked up to Lyanna and explained patiently, “You probably don’t know this, but Gregory and Celestine only choose pieces from Queen. It’s a top international luxury brand, tons of global awards. If you’re not familiar with jewelry, you should trust their taste.”
More than that, anything under the Queen label was a symbol of status and power.
In elite circles, socialites, wealthy wives, even celebrities all wanted at least one custom piece from Queen. But there was a condition.
Your background and financial standing had to qualify.
Otherwise, the brand would not even consider letting you wear it.
Viola had always dreamed of becoming friends with one of Queen’s designers. If that ever happened, she could secure an exclusive endorsement, dominate the social scene, and enjoy endless admiration and praise.
Seraphina smirked. “So you like them?”
Viola lowered her eyes modestly, pretending to be shy. “I mean, who wouldn’t? But today’s about you, not me. I—”
“Good,” Seraphina cut in. “I don’t like them. Mom, Dad-I’d rather shop over there. Just a few pieces is fine.”
Gregory’s heart melted. His daughter was being considerate-not wanting them to spend too much. He waved his hand generously.

“If you like it, we’ll buy the whole line,” he said. Then turned to Viola. “Viola, which of the Queen pieces caught your eye? Pick whatever you want-it’s on me.”
“Really?” Viola’s eyes sparkled. “Thank you so much!”
Even if she couldn’t get the entire collection, she’d grab as much as she could. She practically cleaned out the display-choosing only the most expensive items.
Meanwhile, Seraphina picked a modest few, some simple diamond pieces without much fuss.
Gregory noticed. His daughter had clearly lived a humble life before. Probably hadn’t had many chances to see luxury up close.
The guilt in his chest deepened. He silently vowed to make it all up to her.
“Uncle Gregory, I’ve made my choices,” Viola said sweetly, arms full of jewelry. Then added with fake humility, “Oops, I grabbed too much. I’ll put some back.”
“No need,” he said warmly, patting her on the head. “I’ve got it.”
He turned to Jack, and motioned for the brand reps to come over to settle the bill.
Viola stood there practically glowing, waiting for her fantasy to come true. But then Seraphina’s voice cut through.
“I think you’ll need to pay for that yourself.”
Viola blinked. Her smile froze. What? Was she really doing this-right here, right now? Was she calling her out in front of everyone?
The two brand reps arrived moments later, holding business cards. They bowed slightly to the couple and began introducing themselves.
“Mr. Drayven, Mrs. Drayven, good afternoon,” said one of them. “I’m Moira, regional director of Queen. All the pieces we submitted this year are part of our flagship collection. How may we assist you today?”
“My niece picked out a few items,” Gregory said, gesturing toward Viola. “Can you total it up?”
