Moira discreetly pinched the side of his thigh. The sharp sting nearly made him wince.
Good. He wasn’t dreaming. That was the boss.
What the hell was she doing here? Was she related to the Drayvens?
And judging from the blank look on her face, she clearly had no intention of acknowledging him. Now what the hell was he supposed to do about the prices?
Just last night, thinking he’d score big off a few rich socialites, he’d hiked up Queen’s rates by 50%. And now… he’d been trying to rip off his boss’s dad?
Gregory was growing suspicious of why the brand rep kept staring at his daughter. He cleared his throat, politely interrupting, “Moira?”
Moira snapped out of it with an awkward smile. “My apologies. Miss Drayven just reminded me of… someone I know. May I ask who she is?”
“She’s my daughter.”
Boom. It hit him like a lightning strike.
Well, shit. He’d been trying to scam the boss’s father.
Should he lower the prices now?
Before he could decide, Seraphina suddenly spoke, her voice calm but pointed. “What’s the total?”
Moira felt Seraphina’s icy gaze brush his face. He couldn’t read her tone, but he knew better than to guess wrong.
“These are all our latest models, made with premium materials,” he said, cautiously. “The cheapest one runs at… a million?”
He was testing the waters.
Seraphina raised an eyebrow. “All top-tier materials?”
“Absolutely. As the brand’s representative, I can guarantee that Queen uses only the highest- grade components available.”

But this next part-this was the test. Seraphina nodded slowly, then said, “Not bad.”
Ding. Message received. Moira’s brain switched gears immediately.
He stared at her in disbelief. Damn. The boss really doesn’t care about burning bridges if it means making a sale.
Seraphina gave him a look that was both amused and sharp. “So? Total?”
He clenched his jaw, took a deep breath, and committed. “Queen’s base price is 56.78 million.”
Her eyes narrowed slightly. Her tone was perfectly neutral. “Reasonable.”
Wait-still not happy?
Moira pushed a smile onto his face. “Of course. Queen’s whole brand is about being luxury- forward but still affordable. On top of that, we have a standard 30% service fee.”
Seraphina nodded approvingly. “Good. Service matters.”
That was the cue. Moira straightened up. “Naturally. Our clients also receive elite VIP customization benefits, which come with an additional 30% design charge.”
She smiled-finally satisfied.
He tapped the numbers into his phone. “Grand total: 113 million.”
Viola nearly choked. “This brand is that expensive? Do you guys do… discounts?”
Moira glanced at Seraphina, then offered an apologetic shrug. “Sorry. Unfortunately, we don’t.”
Viola’s lips twisted in a pout. Of course high-end brands didn’t do discounts. That was part of the appeal. Seraphina chimed in again, “I heard Queen requires purchases to be made by the actual wearer?”
