Chapter 20 Super Ultra VIP

She’d never even heard of such a rule-so how the hell did Seraphina know?

With no way out, Viola reluctantly pulled out a card. It held her entire savings-pocket money from family members that added up to just over 100 million.

This purchase was going to clean her out.

But refusing to pay wasn’t an option. Too many people were watching.

Moira took the card, swiped it, and handed it back with a perfect gentleman’s smile. He even helped her register for a Super Ultra VIP account, as if that would make it feel any less painful.

Viola forced a smile and said nothing.

Seraphina’s own selection was modest-classic, timeless pieces. Nothing too showy. Her total came to just over three million.

Gregory stepped in immediately to pay, handing over his card with fatherly pride. “Seraphina, next time don’t be afraid to pick something more expensive. Your dad’s not broke. If there’s anything else you want, just say the word.”

Celestine lightly tapped her daughter’s hand, a little exasperated. “Honey, you really didn’t have to be so conservative.”

Touched, but also a little embarrassed, Seraphina shook her head. “I’m fine. I don’t really need anything.”

Gregory’s heart clenched. This girl-raised without privilege-was still so thoughtful.

He pulled out his phone. “Here, give me your payment code. I’m sending you a little spending money. Will a hundred million be enough for now?”

Celestine scoffed and smacked his arm. “Seriously? That’s it?”

“Right, my bad.” Gregory laughed. “Make that three hundred million.”

The room went still. Three hundred million in one casual transfer.

People standing nearby blinked in disbelief.

Viola looked like she’d been sucker-punched. That much money, handed out like it was lunch money? Even before Seraphina came back, she had never received that kind of treatment.

Today, she’d been ignored from the moment they walked in. Invisible. Forgotten.

Panic started to rise in her chest. Desperate, she reached for some kind of emotional leverage.

“You’re so lucky, Seraphina,” she said sweetly.

Celestine glanced over, sensing the shift. She gave a warm but pointed smile. “She’s different from you. She didn’t grow up with luxury. You’re her little sister-just be patient and kind.”

Viola’s smile froze on her face.

Wait-so because she grew up with privilege, she didn’t deserve the same treatment?

Also, since when was the younger sister expected to coddle the older one? Unreal.

“Thank you all for coming out today,” Gregory said sincerely. “You’ve been a huge help. Please feel free to rest in the lounge.”

He turned to Jack. “Make sure they’re comfortable.”

“Yes, sir.” Jack gestured politely. “This way, everyone.”

Once the crowd had cleared, Celestine checked the clock and turned to her daughter.

“Sweetheart, you haven’t eaten all day. You must be starving. Let’s eat.”

“That’s right,” Gregory chimed in. “The chef followed your preferences exactly. But if anything doesn’t suit your taste, just let us know. We’ll adjust everything moving forward.”

Seraphina smiled and nodded.

The group headed toward the dining room, light conversation bouncing between them.

Viola trailed behind, her mood souring fast.

At the table, Seraphina was seated at the head, her parents pulling their chairs in close on either side.

Viola sat off to the side. No one joined her. The distance felt deliberate,

Like she wasn’t family at all.

Gregory and Celestine kept passing dish after dish toward Seraphina, insisting she try everything. By the time they were done, her plate looked like a sampler platter from a five-star
