From Nobody to Everyone's Obsession (Seraphina Vale) novel Chapter 40

Chapter 40 Too Late

“Besides, who doesn’t make mistakes?” she continued. “You don’t have to hold onto it forever Leave some room for people. And don’t be so petty.”

The way she said it was grating. It didn’t sound like compromise at all.

It sounded like she was standing on moral high ground, condemning someone else.

Seraphina lifted her eyes calmly, her expression flat. “I only want you to apologize.”

What? Is she crazy?

Sabrina’s arrogance had been crushed again and again, leaving only hollow bravado. “Me apologize? Keep dreaming.”

Seraphina didn’t get angry. She smiled instead, about to speak.

A cold male voice cut in, sharp and icy. “What if I tell you to apologize?”

Everyone froze and turned toward the sound.

A man stood not far behind Seraphina. His features were sharply defined, a cold light flashing in his eyes.

Seraphina looked over as well, her brows lifting slightly. She hadn’t expected to see him here.

Sunlight slipped in through a gap in the window. Dust drifted through the beam, catching the light.

It highlighted his fair skin and strong, well-defined features. Very handsome.

“Mr. Drayven,” Sabrina froze before forcing an awkward smile. “Why are you here? I’m sorry you had to see this. It’s nothing serious. Please don’t take it to heart.”

Cassian didn’t respond. He walked straight up to Seraphina, his voice low and rich, carrying a trace of warmth. “What a coincidence. We meet again.”

Is it really a coincidence?

Seraphina looked up, about to speak, when he reached out and gently rested his hand on her head

She paused, frowning. He quickly pulled his hand back. It felt strange. She wasn’t used to it But ། unexpectedly, she didn’t dislike it.

Across from them, Sabrina’s face went ashen.

What is going on?

Viola had said that since Seraphina returned, Cassian hadn’t gone back to the estate. They shouldn’t even know each other.

Yet the familiarity was undeniable.

Chapter 40 Too Late

Sabrina’s mind spiraled. She had wanted to please Viola, but now it felt like she had completele medged everything

Cassian turned to look at her. All warmth vanished, replaced by cold indifference. A big shop bullying customers? Shut it down for inspection.”

Sabrina’s face went white. She immediately forced a flattering smile. “Mr. Drayven, you’re joking I wa wrong. I apologize. I’ll apologize right now.”

She hurried toward Seraphina, bowing repeatedly, her words tumbling out. I’m sorry. I’m truly sorry was wrong.”

Seraphina stood quietly, still and composed. She glanced at her. “Too late.”

Sabrina’s hands and feet went ice-cold. Her lips trembled violently.

She never imagined that Seraphina would be so favored so soon after being brought back.

Viola had grown up alongside Cassian and never received this kind of protection. One careless move had dragged her family into serious trouble.

This shop was one of the family’s most important sources of income.

The more she thought about it, the angrier she became. She stared at Seraphina, hatred burning inside

her.

Beautiful. Surrounded by capable men. From a powerful family. Why did all the good things fall into her

hands?
