Seraphina tipped her chin at Tyler.

Tyler reacted instantly. He pulled out his phone, opened the payment app, brought up the QR code, and smiled as the other party scanned it and completed the transfer.

The payment notification came through.

“Let’s go,” Seraphina said, already turning toward the door.

The moment she moved, Sabrina panicked.

“Wait.” Her voice cracked. “What do you mean by that? What about what you promised? You can’t just go back on your word.”

Seraphina turned her head, smiling faintly, her tone lazy and unbothered.

“Did I promise you anything?” she said. “I’m legally claiming compensation. At most, I’ll withdraw the complaint with the regulators. As for what other parties decide to do, that’s not my problem.”

What? Am I being played?

“You…” Sabrina’s face twisted through several shades in seconds. Red, then pale, then dark. Her chest heaved, her finger shook as she pointed at Seraphina, trying to speak.

No words came out. Her eyes rolled back.

She collapsed.

About ten minutes later, Harold rushed into the pharmacy.

Sabrina had just regained consciousness.

“Dad…” she said weakly.

Harold’s expression was livid. He strode forward and slapped her across the face.

“Don’t call me that,” he snapped. “You still have the nerve? Look at the mess you made.”

Eleven minutes earlier, he had received a call from the quality control bureau for medicinal materials.

They ordered his business to suspend operations immediately for rectification.

He had been completely blindsided and demanded an explanation.

The response had been cold and brief. “Because your daughter offended the Drayven family.”

Sabrina’s face swelled instantly. Blood streamed from her nose.

She collapsed onto the floor and broke down sobbing.

Harold was furious beyond reason. He turned and stormed out, already making calls, pulling strings hoping there might still be a way to salvage the situation.

The three of them left the store just as it hit lunchtime.

Cassian took Seraphina and Tyler to Luelle Grand Hotel.

It was one of the most exclusive hotels in Valedawn, marketed as a “ten-star” property. A place Tyler would never normally set foot in.

The moment he saw the opulent décor and the steady flow of celebrities, industry leaders, and social elites, his legs felt weak.

Ever since he started following Seraphina, his life had flipped upside down. It still felt unreal.

The hotel manager rushed out to greet them personally. All smiles. All deference.

Inside the private room, the staff quickly set the table. Seraphina excused herself and stepped out to the

restroom.

Guided through the hallway, she had just reached the lobby when someone hesitated, then called her

name.

“Seraphina?”

She turned.

Not far away stood Miranda and Lyanna, both staring at her in shock.

Beyond them, near the floor-to-ceiling windows, she could make out a dining table with Leonard, Damian, and a middle-aged couple.

Damian’s parents, most likely.

The instant Miranda saw Seraphina clearly, her face darkened. So it really was her.

“What are you doing here?” Miranda snapped. “Are you following us? You really don’t know when to quit

Seraphina stayed relaxed, completely unfazed, and walked past them without a word.

Miranda’s guilt flared. She hurried forward and blocked her path.

“Where do you think you’re going? Did you regret leaving Vale estate? Follow us all the way to Valedawn to stir things up? Planning to spill the truth and sabotage Lyama’s engagement out of spite?”

Lyanna stiffened.

Today was the first official dinner between both families. It was, in every sense, her engagement day with Damian.
