Chapter 61 Cold Splash
The realization hit him all at once, wiping the smug look right off his face.
Zachary froze for a full thirty seconds.

Only when he looked at her relaxed, unhurried expression did he realize it. She’d done it on purpose.
He’d been played. Zachary nearly lost his mind.
He was Zachary. In Valedawn, his name alone made people nervous.
And yet he’d just been toyed with by a girl. If his friends found out, how was he supposed to face anyone again?
“All good,” Seraphina said lightly. “I’m heading out.”
She reached for the door. As she closed it, his hand shot out and caught her wrist.
She paused and looked up.
Zachary’s usual composed smile now carried a trace of bitterness. His voice softened, almost pleading. “Seraphina, what would it take for you to agree?”
Her gaze dropped to where he was holding her.
Zachary realized it immediately and let go, his voice turning almost pitiful. “Come on. Just give me a
chance?”
Seraphina didn’t know why.
Maybe it was because he was Cornelius’s grandson.
Growing up, Cornelius never stopped praising this once-in-a-generation prodigy of a grandson. She’d heard it so often her ears practically rang.
So she’d wanted to mess with him a little.
Now Zachary was clearly cornered. He clenched his jaw. “Fine. Whatever it takes. Just say it.”
+ Oh?That sounds tempting.

Seraphina lifted her eyes to him, her expression unreadable, faintly unsettling.
For a split second, Zachary wanted to bite his own tongue off. But there was no backing out now.
He handed her his business card. “Think it over. Call me.”
Seraphina yawned lazily, accepted the card, and turned away. The driver got back in and drove off.
Nearby. Lyanna stared in disbelief. From a distance, all she could see was the two of them pulling at each 2

other, and Zachary handing her a card.
Payment. That had to be what it was.
“See?” Lyanna muttered coldly. “She really has no shame.”
Damian scoffed. “Disgusting.”

The Maybach disappeared from sight, and his irritation only grew. Hooking up in the car, middle of the day Do they not care the driver can hear-see? Trashy. Disgusting. And Zachary? All that power, all that status… and he lasts ten minutes?Seriously? That’s it?Embarrassing.
If Seraphina ever saw what a real man could do, would she come crying back?
The thought made Damian grin uncontrollably.
“Why are you smiling?” Lyanna asked, confused.
He snapped back to himself and cleared his throat. “Just thinking how lucky I am. Marrying someone like you. Not like certain people.”
The last words were deliberately loaded.
She nudged him. “We’re not even married yet.”
He leaned closer. “Then how about we try the car tonight?”
The break ended, and students gradually returned to campus.
A dark green Toyota Alphard pulled to a stop outside Valedawn University. The door opened, and an agent stepped out first, followed by Viola in oversized sunglasses.
