Chapter 64 No Exceptions

The room fell silent almost instantly.

The boy was Ethan Brown. When Josh wasn’t around, Ethan handled everything in the international

program.

Here, the rules came first. No one bent them, no matter who showed up.

Ethan narrowed his eyes and stood. He pushed too hard, the chair behind him skidded and tipped over. and one of the guys rushed to set it upright.

With his hands in his pockets, Ethan walked over to Seraphina’s desk at an unhurried pace.

He stopped in front of her, towering over her, his stare cold and dismissive.

The light shifted as Seraphina turned her head and looked up. Their eyes met.

Around them, the class watched tensely, hearts tightening in unison. Poor girl. She’s about to be dragged out of the international program.

If there was anyone to blame, it was her being a transfer. The international program hated students who dropped in halfway.

To them, it meant disrespect.

“Walk out on your own,” Ethan said flatly. “I won’t touch you.”

He slammed his fist onto the desk.

Bang.

People flinched hard. Some glanced at Seraphina, worried she might start crying. That would be ugly.

In their minds, the smart move was obvious. Leave now, keep some dignity.

What they didn’t expect was for the girl who was supposed to be terrified to stand up on her own.

Her expression was calm, almost bored. “Cut the talk. How do you want to do this? Don’t interrupt my zoning out.”

The room froze.

What the hell? That is was bold.

Ethan let out a cold laugh. Too arrogant. “Tomorrow. On the field. I’ll knock you to the ground and make you beg.”

Seraphina yawned, clearly uninterested. “No need. Let’s do it now.”

What?

Chapter 64 No Exceptions

People stared, wondering if they’d heard wrong.

Was this real? She wanted to fight Ethan right now?

Had she lost her mind?

Everyone knew her placement tests were disasters. Scores in the twenties. Was something wrong with her?

What a waste. That face, and she’s reckless to the point of stupidity.

Ethan’s expression darkened. “You’ll regret this.”

“Same goes for you.”

Damn. People exchanged looks. This was insane. Completely insane.

Class time came and went.

Instead of staying put, the entire international program poured out onto the field, lining up and shouting.

Students from other classes pressed against the windows, elbowing classmates to look.

Inside the building, Valerie Shepherd was visibly anxious. “Adrian, we need to step in. Even if the girl doesn’t have a powerful background, we can’t let students gang up on her.”

“Step in?” Adrian Bellamy scoffed. “You going to stop Ethan? Or Josh?”

The questions hung in the air, unanswered.

One by one, the teachers quietly returned to their desks, pretending to work.

Valerie slammed the door and rushed out, heading straight for the field. Less than three minutes later, she appeared at the edge of the grass, breathless, shouting from afar, “Ethan, you are not allowed to hit a girl.”

Ethan glanced her way, clearly thinking he should at least show some restraint in front of a teacher.

The next second, he threw a punch.

Seraphina reacted instantly. She dropped her center of gravity and slipped past it, her right fist snapping out in a clean hook that slammed into his shoulder.

Ethan grunted. His entire arm went numb. He stumbled backward several steps, completely thrown off.

Before he could recover, his vision went dark.

A sweeping kick took his legs out from under him and slammed him onto the ground.
