Chapter 13
It’s pretty nippy outside tonight as I make my way home through the trees, trying not to be seen. I only wore a light jacket, because they keep it warm in the theater, where I thought we were going, plus it wasn’t this cold when we left. I wasn’t expecting the drive-in, but with everybody in the car it wasn’t cold at all. Though now I’m regretting my decision.
I’m not sure how to feel right now. I don’t know if they’re all just putting on a really good show in order to play out their plan, but it’s working. I had a really good time tonight until Clara showed up. It felt like we were all friends and had been for forever. Seeing Clara freaked me out though, and the only thing I’ve ever been good at is hiding, so I hid.
I saw Dallas freak out and I saw Mia comfort him, it felt real. I also saw Liam drag Clara off like she was nothing more than a piece of gum under his shoe. I’m not sure what all that was about, but once they all left, is when I started walking home. I’ve never understood how I can hide so well, Wolves are supposed to have amazing scent abilities, but they never seem to be able to find me. It’s helped me many times, as long as I have enough time to get away.
I’m about half-way home when I hear my phone chime.
*I’m so sorry about tonight, Aims.* -Dallas
Strangely enough I’m not really mad at him. If this isn’t all a set up, I honestly believe it was just a coincidence that she was there tonight. And if it is a set up, then what else should I expect?
*It’s okay Dallas. I’m not mad, I just needed to cool off. No worries, I’ll see you Monday.* -me
*Well, in that case. Can you tell me where you are so I can come pick you up? It’s cold out, you aren’t dressed warm enough for this weather.* – Dallas
I chuckle down at my phone, because he’s definitely right about that. It feels strange to me that he would even consider that. I know that it’s probably not cold at all to him, so he must have actually considered the fact that my human self would be cold out here. I decide to tell him where I am, and five minutes later he’s already pulled
I smile when I see him hop out of his car and run over to me with his jacket in tow. He wraps it around me and pushes me into the car. He already has the heat on full blast, he’s even pointed his vents to my seat. I smile but look down hiding it, as he slides into his seat.
It’s ridiculous how fast I started to feel comfortable around Dallas. Well, Cole and Walker too, we were all having a great time tonight. “You’re as cold as an icicle, Aims. Don’t do that again. You could have froze out there tonight.” He pleads, looking way too guilty. “It’s not that cold, Dals. Just nippy, but I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have ran off.” I respond. He purses his lips and I look out the window. Did I just apologize? What’s wrong with me right now?
Once he pulls up to my house, he runs to get my door again. I don’t know why he does that, but he pulls me close to him once I get out of the car. I can feel his warmth through his coat, as he walks me all the way inside my house.
Once inside he puts me on the couch and finds a few blankets and throws them on top of me, and then sits down on the coffee table facing me. I chuckle, because he’s really acting like I’m about to freeze to death. I can hear Mia in the kitchen, but she hasn’t come out yet. He smirks, seemingly reading my thoughts. “Look, it may not be

freezing outside, but your body is freezing. Humor me.” He says as he gestures to the blankets, I roll my eyes.
