“Oh good, you’re done. Liam and Dallas we’re just telling me about a party they’re throwing across the street that you were invited to.” My mom says looking at me strangely. I look over at Liam and Dallas, and Dallas has a big smile on his face, and Liam’s expressionless but staring at me way too intently. It takes me till now to realize I’m wearing my silky light pink pajamas that are a crop top and booty shorts, that I just bought. I was trying to ask my mom where my pink sweater was when I came down here. I look around to grab anything to cover up and the closet thing to me is Dallas’s coat. I throw it on quickly zipping it up in the front and look back at them. Liam’s expression is no longer blank, it’s filled with hate and anger, I think, but I don’t have time to worry about that right now.

I turn to my mom, “Um… Yes, I was invited, but we already had plans tonight, so I declined. I’m not really sure what you’re doing here.” I say, directing the last bit to the two boys who have no reason being in my house right now. “Don’t be rude, Amy. They came to bring you to the party. It’s all well, I’m very tired from our day of shopping. I think I’ll just go to bed. Please call if there are any problems, and do not get into any cars. I still expect you home tonight regardless of the party being across the street.” She says standing up and winking at

What the fuck? How can she not tell I don’t want to go to this party? I race after her up the stairs, “Mom, why’d you do that?” I whisper yell at her. “Sweetheart, all you do is schoolwork and read. I think this could be good for you, and it would seem your new friend will protect you. If you need to come home early, you know the safe word. Just text me and I’ll come get you if you need help escaping. Go enjoy yourself for once.” I moan and curse her in my head. “Have fun!” She exclaims quietly, and heads to her room. I get she thinks she’s helping, but this is just adding another target on my back.

I slowly make my way downstairs. I glare at both of the boys and ask, “What time does the party start?” Dallas chuckles a little, “Starts at nine, but we’ll wait for you to get ready so we can walk you over there.” He jumps over the couch and walks up to me grabbing the zipper of his coat. “Or you can just wear this. Seems to fit you.” He flirts, I hear a low growl behind him, but he doesn’t pay it any mind and just smiles brightly at me. I try and look around Dallas to see why Liam is growling, but he’s too tall and I can’t see. I roll my eyes, “Thanks Dallas, but I think I can walk across the street by myself.” I say, almost shrugging the coat off to give him, but decided against it considering what I’m wearing underneath.

I look at him while he watching me with kind eyes, “Why do you want me to go so bad? Surely, you guys have better things to do than harass me?” He smirks. “Well, I don’t know about that, but I think it would be way more fun with you there. Besides, all the guys want you to come now.” He answers and I finally lean past him to look at Liam with an eyebrow raised. Dallas grabs me and leans down to my ear whispering, “I think he feels bad about yesterday. He said your mom loves him and he could get her to say yes, so he came to help me convince her.” I glare at him, remembering yesterday all over again.

Is this party just going to convince everybody I’m a slut? That’s what I’m going to be hearing for the next two years in school, how I fucked all the future leaders of the pack. That’d be one for the resume. I inwardly roll my eyes. I pull away from Dallas, “It’s really not a good idea, Dals. I don’t want to cause problems for myself or for you guys.” I try and sound understanding, because it’s true. I saw the way Dallas looked at Liam yesterday, and Walker and Cole, just walked away from him without saying a word. I think it’d be an even worse rumor if I caused a rift between them, then everyone just calling me the school slut.

“Don’t worry about it causing problems for us.” Liam says from behind Dallas. Dallas shifts out of the way so Liam and I can see each other. He looks directly into my eyes, “Come to the party Amy.” He orders, which for some reason with him, it makes me want to argue. I don’t know if it’s our history or what, but I just can’t stand

the fact he thinks he can give me orders. “No.” I say, turning around heading for the stairs, not bothering to see Liam’s reaction.

Dallas grabs my arm before I can even make it to the second stair and spins me around. “Please, Aims.” He pleads, with his kind puppy dog eyes. I glare over his shoulder to Liam, and then look kindly back to Dallas, “ Okay.” I say sweetly and smile, with causes Dallas to smile back at me. “I’ll see you at the party.” I tell Dallas and turn to head up the stairs. “I’ll wait.” He says as he makes his way back to the couch. I follow him, making sure to not spare Liam another glance, to convince him I’m fine to walk by myself.
