Chapter 132
“So, you’re saying he’s just going to get weaker.” She nods. “Yes, but we can’t wait for that.” She looks over at me and pulls my hand into hers. The sparks that light up my body at her touch, surprise me. “If we wait, I’ll be dead. I don’t want that. I also think the kids are connected to, and I definitely can’t have that. When he attacked us and sensed the kids, he told me to take good care of them. Then, when we caught him in the house, he said he just wanted to get a look at them. I think he has a plan for them, and that’s why he didn’t kill us when he had the chance. He needed me to make sure they survived.” My blood is boiling at the thought of him touching any of them.
“So, he’s weakening, but what good does that do if we can’t kill him. I’m not risking killing you if he’s connected to you.” I say, squeezing her hand tighter. She sighs, “I’m going to talk to Hazel. See if there’s any way she can break the connection between my father and us. But Liam, even if we can figure out how to break the connection taking him down won’t be easy. I say he’s weakening, but that doesn’t mean he’s weak.” I sigh, she’s right, but I think with enough power we could take him down. “We’ll just worry about breaking the connection, then we’ll figure something out.” I say, trying to comfort her.
She smiles, but then gets a serious look on her face. “Also, I need to ask… Before I left, you guys were talking about there being a mole in the pack. Did anything ever come of that?” She asks and I look down, “No, we could never find anything on one. Why?” She sighs, “It’s just another theory. Someone told him about my friends where we all lived. I’m not one hundred percent, but I feel like it’s likely whoever took the pictures he sent me on my phone was someone in the pack. Someone with access to your house. The window that was open the night we were watching a movie, I didn’t even know it was there because it was always closed. I’m also not sure about who attacked Mia. The letter he sent me was perfect cursive, but the message on the wall didn’t even have a hint of cursive in it. Like I said, I’m not sure, but I just think it’s strange.” She finishes, and I think about it. She’s not wrong that does add up, but it’s still a matter of who.
