Chapter 131

Amy sits across from me at my father’s desk. I should say mine, I basically run the pack. He won’t hand it down til I have my Luna, but he hasn’t bothered me about that since Amy came back. Amy looks nervous as she sits there rubbing her hands together softly between her knees.
I wait for her to say something, I don’t know why. I have so many questions, but she seems anxious to talk about something. She finally looks up at me, “I talked to my wolf last night.” My eyes widen. “What?” I basically yell, she smiles, “Yeah, she’s so pretty, Liam.” I smile, of course she is. My wolf starts pacing in my head, he wants to meet her. “Did she talk to you?” I ask, and she looks down sadly. That can’t be good.
She nods, “Yeah, but nothing she said was great news.” My face goes blank as I urge her to continue. She lets out a loud breath, “She said I have my father’s power in me.” Shit, that was something we were worried about. It doesn’t seem to affect her though. She continues, “She also said she’s not the reason I’m sick, but she doesn’t know why I am. She’s not leaving me though.” I smile sadly, I know that she was worried about that, but now we have zero idea about what’s wrong with her. “She also said basically, we can’t defeat my father unless I let her out. She wants me to take off my necklace.” She says grabbing her necklace and playing with the pendent. I open my mouth to say something, but I’m at a loss for words.
I want her to let her wolf out more then anything, but I’m also so worried. We need a plan in place to defeat her father before he knows where she is, if he doesn’t already. “I think we need a plan first. I don’t want to alert him you’re here and go into a fight half-cocked. Now that we know your wolf isn’t leaving you, I think we should wait just until we figure something out.” I say, hating myself for it. She nods, “I agree, but I’ve been thinking.” She stands up and grabs the binder she brought with her off my desk. She starts flipping through the pages, “A long time ago, Hazel, Nick and I had a theory.” I nod, listening.
“We had a theory that he was weakening. We moved passed it, because he found us right then and threw Hazel across the room, he didn’t seem weak. But none of it adds up. Super powerful being, brings a gun to kill… My mother and me. Doesn’t kill the guard, because he doesn’t want anyone to come looking for him. Beats up Mia, but doesn’t kill her, again that would have alerted the warriors. When he forced me to leave, he didn’t make me meet him anywhere, he just wanted me away from you guys. He attacks Hazel, Nick and I, which is when he marked the kids, but he didn’t kill Hazel or Nick. When he attacked again, Nick shot him, and he ran.” She stops to look at me. He’s weakening, which is good right? She looks down. “I think he’s weakening because of me, and I think I’m weakening with him.” My eyes widen, but wouldn’t that mean to kill one you’d kill… Fuck no.
I stand up, “Amy, if this is another suicide mission, you can forget about it. I’m not letting you do anything crazy again.” She smiles down at the ground, “No it’s nothing like that. Look.” She points down to one of the birth certificates and flips the page. “He had three kids after me. He killed all of them after they turned five, but he didn’t try again. He could have had more kids in the time between then in now, but he didn’t. My theory is he was weakening after my mother took me, because he wasn’t able to kill me. I think him killing his own is how he keeps his power, and I fucked it up. He couldn’t find us, so he tried again three more times, and I don’t think it worked.” We stare into each other’s eyes taking in what she’s saying.
