Chapter 141
Cole comes in carrying a small box of I don’t know what, but looking down at it. “Why was I sent on a mission to retrieve a bunch of random crap?” Cole says grinning looking up at Liam. Liam shrugs, “I don’t know, Hazel said she needed it.” Liam explains motioning to Hazel, Cole’s eyes follow his hand until they land on Hazel.
The box of random crap falls to the ground, “Mate.” Cole nearly whispers, my eyes go wide as I stare between the two. “Hi Cole.” Hazel says casually. Cole walks over to her and kneels down next to her. “I asked for these things, specifically from you, because we needed to have a conversation before this…” She gestures between her and Cole, “was reveled.” I just gap at them, so happy that they found each other.
Cole looks at the group frowning, “What conversation?” He asks, clearly not happy that he wasn’t included. I smile down at my hands shaking my head. She clearly wanted to have this serious talk, before her and Cole had their moment. Which they take Cole grabbing her hand and pulling her upstairs, probably to the office since it’s soundproof.
Once they finish walking up the stairs, my eyes land on Nick. He looks at me guilty, “I’m so sorry, Amy. But everything she said is true. I swear, I never wanted to put you or your kids in danger. I just wanted to be there to protect you.” He pleads with me with his eyes.
I can’t even count how many times Nick saved me, not only from my father either. I don’t know how things would have gone if he hadn’t been with us, but I do know I owe him my life and then some. Not to mention if my mom didn’t want him to leave, clearly, I was in more danger had he not been with us compared to that he was. I let go of Dallas’s hand and reach out for Nick’s, which he gladly accepts. “I forgive you. I wish you guys would have told me, but I understand.” I smile at him and he lets out a breath of air, closing his eyes. “Thank you, Amy.” He says relieved.
Liam huffs, “Great now I have to be jealous of both of them.” He says gesturing to Dallas and Nick. I laugh, Jealous?” I ask, he looks seriously down at me. “Do you know how hard it was for me to get over how obsessively protective Dallas was of you when we were younger?” Liam says as Dallas takes my hand from Nick’s putting it in his own, like Liam’s going to take me away from him. I look at Dallas with an amused expression and he just shrugs with a smirk on his face.

I roll my eyes. “Why would you be jealous of it now, Liam?” Mia asks innocently, literally batting her eyelashes. “Could it be, because you two were kissing?” Mia finishes, looking between us. I know my cheeks are already red, as all our friends start ewing and awing. Goddess, and to think, I was just complimenting her. I scowl at her, but she just gives me a kissy face and a wink. I was hoping we could move past this, after we settled it with the kids, but I guess not.
Liam smiles down at me, clearly not as embarrassed as I am about this. “I never stopped loving her. Even if we don’t end up back together, I’ll be jealous.” He explains looking back at Mia. I watch the side of his face, unable to stop looking at him now. I mean I know he said he wasn’t able to move on from me, but to hear him admit that he still loves me.
Dallas pumps his hand in mine, and I tear my face away from Liam to look at him. He leans in and whispers in my ear, “I never stopped loving you either. Just so you know.” He pulls back smirking and winks at me. I burst out laughing. Dallas joins in and soon the rest of the group is laughing with us. It feels so much like old times, that I forget all the problems we’re facing.
Eventually, the laughter dies down, everyone stares at each other like they know things are about to get serious. I lay my head down on Liam’s shoulder, suddenly feeling extremely tired. He pulls me closer to him by my

waist. I look around the room at all my friends still missing Hazel and Cole, “I wish none of this was happening, that we could just move forward. I hate that you guys are going to be in danger again.” I say and Liam bends his neck to kiss my head, then opens his mouth to say something. He’s cut off by Walker.
