Full Moon Curse (by Dream) novel Chapter 163

Chapter 163

We get home and the air just feels different, cleaner, happier.

We’re finally free of the moon man, even if it took killing my father to do it. It sucks that I’ll never get to know him, but it’s hard to miss someone you not only hated but wanted to kill you your whole life.

Everybody I love is finally safe, and I really couldn’t ask for more. Maybe I’ll meet my dad in the afterlife, get to know him there.

I look across the street at the empty lot that’s just sitting there. That was my home once upon a time, but this is my home now. My mom is happy, and I know she wants me here with my children, not there with her.

I take a deep breath and turn towards Liam, looking for the kids. His eyes catch mine, “My parents are watching them at the park. Figured you might want a minute to breathe.” He explains and I nod, then look around the room and back at him.

“It’s so quiet.” I tell him, looking around at the empty room, other then me and him. He smirks then grabs me and pulls me into a hug. “You’re about to realize, for once in your life, what it’s like to just live. Without all the extra you’ve always had to deal with.” He whispers into the top of my head.

I sigh into his chest. “I’m not sure how to live that way.” I tell him and he chuckles. “All the more reason to learn now.” He tells me. I chuckle and shake my head, pushing off him and heading to the kitchen for a drink.

I grab the sweet tea from the fridge and pour into a glass while Liam watches me. I finally turn around and look back at him, while taking a sip of tea.

“Are you okay, Angel?” He asks, watching me like I might explode. I sigh, “I’m fine. I’m just trying to wrap my head around everything.” I explain and he nods. “Do you want to talk about it?” He asks, and I shake my head.” Not right now. I just want to live in the moment for a little while.”

He nods his head and walks closer to me, pulling me in for another hug. “How’s your stomach feeling?” He asks. My lips scrunch, “Only hurts a little. I think I’m going to like having a wolf.” I chuckle, and he smiles.

‘Don’t insult me. You’ll love having me.’ Leah says in my mind, making me smile and shake my head at her. Liam watches me. “I shouldn’t have taught you how to hide things from me. I got used to feeling all your emotions.” He smirks, and I shake my head at him. “You have enough to deal with too.”

He shakes his head, “Never too much, that I can’t handle anything you want to throw at me.” He says sweetly, and I look at him lovingly.

He smiles, “Come on, Angel. Let’s get you some rest before the kids come home.” He picks me up, and starts carrying me up the stairs bridal style, and I squeal in surprise.

He lays me down on his bed and covers me with the blanket, then climbs in behind me, cuddling up to me, and resting his hand on my hip, so he doesn’t hit my wound.

“Do you really think it’s all over?” I whisper, letting some of my worries out. I hear him swallow, “I really hope so.” He responds.

I turn around in his arms and look at him. “What did Hazel say? About the ritual.” I ask and he looks over my head sighing. “She said the ritual worked like we wanted it to. The entity or whatever was in your father was held back long enough for you to kill him…” He doesn’t finish so I push him.

“And?”

He sighs again, “We should discuss this later.” He says and I shake my head. “I need to know.”

He sighs again, “She said with the spell not being something she’s done before she doesn’t know if there were any side effects, or if he’s actually gone.” My eyes widen, and he quickly corrects himself.

“No, your dad is gone, but she said she couldn’t be sure the entity went with him.” He explains, and I close my eyes. “So, it all could have been for nothing? If the entity is still here, it can still find us. Is there a way to find it?” I ask and he shakes his head.

“She said the only way we’ll know is if it comes back for us. More specifically, you, and probably Hazel. If it’s still out there, he’s probably not too happy with the two of you.” He explains and my jaw clenches. This really may not be over.

I finally fall asleep, letting everything I just learned take a back sit for now.

When I wake up, Liam is gone. I get up and take a shower and get myself ready, then start to leave the room, almost on auto pilot.

I feel like something’s wrong.

I open the door, and Dallas is standing next to the frame, leaning against the wall. “Morning, sleepy head.” He smiles, and I shake my head. “What time is it?” He looks down at his watch. “Six thirty in the morning. You slept most of yesterday and last night.” He explains and I purse my lips.

“Where’s Liam?” I ask him, and he takes a deep breath. “In the office.” He tells me, and I look at him suspiciously. “What aren’t you telling me?” I ask and sighs. “Come on. Let’s go talk to Liam.”

He throws his arm around my shoulders and starts walking me towards the office down the hall.
