Chapter 164

*Fifteen years later*

I walk into Griffons room, shaking him to wake him up. “Griff, you’re going to be late again. Wake up!” I tell him, throwing the blanket off of him. “Mom!” He yells and I roll my eyes.

“You’re twenty years old. You shouldn’t still need your mom to wake you up for school.” I tell him and he laughs. “Maybe, I don’t want to go to school.” He tells me and I sigh sitting on the foot of the bed and looking over at

him.

“You have to go to school.” I tell him and he shakes his head. “You and dad didn’t. Heather doesn’t.” He explains and my jaw clenches.

I look towards the door and shake my head. “I would have loved to go to school. And Heather found her mate, and she’s still taking online classes.” I tell him and he rolls his eyes.

“So, I just need to find my mate, then I don’t have to go to school anymore?” He asks, and I look back at him and smile. “You know that’s not what I mean. But if you really don’t want to go to school anymore, we’ll talk to your dad later today. Maybe online classes would be better for you anyway.” I tell him and he nods. Getting up and walking over to his closet.

“Have you called Heather recently?” I yell to him through the closet door. I hear him sigh loudly, “No.” Is all he answers, and I sigh. Standing up and starting to walk out of his room.

I get to the office and sit down behind my desk in my chair. Liam wanted me in his office, so we knocked down a wall and made it a giant office for both of us.

I sigh. Griffon hasn’t talked much to Heather since she found her mate and moved to a different pack. Her Alpha loves her and keeps her safe, but I think Griff is jealous she found her mate so soon after they turned eighteen and he’s still looking for his.

He hasn’t really been the same since he turned eighteen. He’s still loving and protective, but a little closed off now. The hating school isn’t really new. Heather was my school lover. That’s why even with taking over her new pack as Luna, she still wants to get through school.

I’ve tried talking to him, telling him it’ll happen. He just has to wait til the timing is right, but it does little to help his mood. He knows all about what I went through with his dad, but that seems to do little to calm his

worries.

Not that I can blame him. I don’t want him to have to deal with anything crazy like Liam and I had to go through.

But we haven’t seen or heard of anything happening like the moon man since my father, so we’re hopeful that it truly is over on that front. It’s been fifteen years since then. I think if he was going to come back, he would have by now.

My cellphone on my desk rings and I smile at the name I see. Losing Heather to another pack was hard, but we still talk at least once a day.

We sent Dimitri with her to keep her safe, and he actually ended up finding his mate while he was there. She was a warrior and now they both protect her with their lives. Makes me worry a little less.

I answer the phone, “Hey, Sweetie. How’s everything?” I ask her and she sighs. “I have to give a ceremony for a

pack member that saved one of our pups from drowning. I’m really proud of them. Just nervous.” She tells me and I smile.
