“It’s alright. We’re leaving.” I tell her, then open the door further and start to head down the hall. Aspen rushes behind me and grabs my arm. She looks at me scared, “There’s something wrong with him.” Aspen says, and I look at her confused. “What do you mean?” I ask her and she shakes her head.
“It’s hard to explain, but there’s a darkness hovering over him.” She tries to explain, but it just confuses me more. “Aspen. I don’t understand.” I tell her and she grimaces, “Just trust me auntie, you need to be careful.” She whispers and I swallow at the ominous feeling that coats my soul when she says that.
I nod at her and look at her worried. I don’t understand how she could possibly be seeing a darkness hovering over him.
I turn away from her and follow the sounds of the yelling, “After last night, she’ll probably never want to see you again.” Mia says angrily. I hear a low growl leave Liam’s throat, “Just let me talk to her.” Liam pleads. “I’ll go ask her.” Mia says and I hear her footsteps start to head towards me.
“You really fucked up, Liam.” Walker tells him sternly, just as Mia turns the corner and sees me. “I know… Walker. I don’t know what’s wrong with me.” Liam whispers and Mia looks at me with pity.
‘We can tell him to leave.’ She mind-links me, so she isn’t overheard. I close my eyes and shake my head, ‘I’ve already caused enough problems for you. I’ll go home.’ I tell her and she shakes her head, ‘You’re always welcome here and you know it.’ Mia says and I give her a grateful smile, before walking into the living room.
“Amy! Thank the Goddess. We need to talk.” Liam pleads and I just give him a nod and start heading for the door. I walk down the street back to our house, feeling his stare the whole way.
I open the door, and Griffon pulls me in for a tight hug. “I was worried about you.” Griffon says and I give him a small smile, “I’m happy your home.” I look around, “Where’s Nadia?” I ask and he smiles down at me. “She stayed back to pack her things. She’s happy to hear you’re safe though.” Griffon explains and I nod.
Liam comes up to Griffon and puts a hand on his shoulder, “Your mom and I need to talk. We’ll be in the office.” He tells him and Griffon looks at me concerned then nods. Kissing my cheek and walking towards the front door.
I walk upstairs and into one of the two soundproof rooms in the house. While Aspen’s warning still rings into my mind.
I lean against my desk and finally look at my mate. His face looks miserable, but I don’t see a black cloud or anything hanging over his head.
He walks closer to me and stands in front of me, after shutting and locking the door. “Angel. I don’t even know what to say.” He says and I swallow.
“You didn’t have that problem last night.” I whisper, looking down at my feet. He grabs my cheek and pulls my face up to look at him. “I swear I didn’t mean a word I said. I’m so sorry. I don’t know what’s wrong with me.” He tells me and I close my eyes.
“Is it like repressed jealousy or something. You’ve never treated me like this before. Even when you didn’t talk to me in high school, you just didn’t talk to me. You’ve never been this cruel.” I tell him and his eyes glisten as he looks at my face.
He shakes his head, “I’m not jealous of any of them. I know how much you love me. I know you’d never do

anything like that. That’s why I don’t understand. One second, I’ll be fine then the next it’s like this overwhelming anger just washes over me.” He tells me and I look up at him concerned.
“That doesn’t sound right. That sounds like… Witchcraft.”
