Full Moon Curse (by Dream) novel Chapter 199

Chapter 199

“There has to to be a way to locate her, Hazel.” I beg her to come up with something, anything. She shakes her head, “I can only do a locator spell on someone when I have something of theirs.” She says looking at me apologetically.

A loud grunt leaves me as I throw my back into the chair. There has to be something we can do. Has to be something to help us find this witch.

Liam, while better, is still distant and always makes sure there’s someone in the room with us at all times.

He doesn’t even sleep in our room right now, too scared the witch might hex him while he’s sleeping and not willing to risk it. He claims the only reason he did it when I was in heat was because of the bodyguards just outside the door and we can’t ask our friends to sit outside our door for the foreseeable future.

Dallas still won’t leave me alone. He sleeps on the couch in our room, closer to me than my own mate. He says with Griffon acting up he’s even more inclined to stay here.

Cole glances up at me from behind Liam’s desk where he’s reading over something. “Amy.” He growls and I roll my eyes. “I’m frustrated. Not mad at your mate.” I tell him and he eyes me suspiciously before his eyes fall back down to the paper.

I groan, my hand falling down my face and I throw my head down on the desk. “Ow.” I whine, just over everything.

“Amy. We’ll figure it out.” Hazel says sweetly and my teeth clench and I look up at her. “Yeah, and in the meantime, my whole family is going up in smoke.” I complain and the pity in her eyes only deepens.

Dallas walks into the room carrying a bag of food from my favorite café at the edge of the pack, smiling. Thought you could use a pick me up.” He tells me and I nearly roll my eyes at him.

He’s nothing but caring and protective and I know he’s doing this for me, and not to spite me, but once this is all over, I’ll be happy not to see his face for a while.

“Thanks.” I deadpan, then look back at Hazel. “You said the witch had to be close, right? In order to realize Liam had fought through the hex and she needed to do it again.” I ask her and she slowly nods.

“Yeah, but we’ve searched everywhere close by.” Hazel says and I nod. “How close?” I ask and her eyes scrunch. “Pretty close. I guess if she had someone close to Liam telling them things they wouldn’t even have to be in the pack though. As long as they had something of his, and a cellphone,” She responds and then tilts her head considering that.

My glare turns up to her, “You’re telling me, this witch might not even be in the pack?” I growl at her and Cole growls back in warning. “I need some air.” I grit out, then stand up stalking out of the house, Dallas right behind

We’re never going to find this stupid witch! All we have is what ifs and maybes! I’m so tired of it. I want my life back! I want my mate back, and I want my son back!

Dallas walks behind me silently. Just there like always.

I hike up the side of the mountain. My shoes slipping and fingers slipping but refusing to ask for help. I haven’t been up here since my mom died, and Dallas helped me then.

I somehow make it to the top without dying, though I’m not one hundred percent how, I don’t question it.

I walk to the edge, and look out at the beautiful view. I just need some clarity. And just like last time Dallas just stands behind me, waiting in case I need him.

But I didn’t come up here to cry this time. If anything, I came up here to find strength.

“Why is this happening?” I whisper into the wind, but I know Dallas can hear me.

I hear his footsteps slowly walk up beside me and his arm wraps around my waist. “Would you kill me if I told you, it’s because you’re mated to an Alpha.” He whispers. His head turning towards me and a pity smile glued to his face.

I scoff out a laugh and shake my head, “Alpha’s never come without drama, huh?” I ask, thinking about Heather and hoping she never has to go through anything like the things I’ve been through.

“Not just Alpha’s, Luna’s too.” He shrugs and I huff a laugh. Knowing he’s right. Liam and my last battle was because of my dad, not him.
