Chapter 210
Hazel considers what I’m asking for a minute before answering. “Yes, but only to a certain extent. Only small spells, maybe a locator spell or some sort of blood magic. Things even the humans could do if they found the right books, but…” She stops and looks at me sadly. Like she knows her answer won’t be what I’m wanting. “A wolf couldn’t be doing this, Amy. Only a witch and a powerful one at that. I’m talking dark magic, stronger than me. Stronger than most.” She answers and I close my eyes.
“Using dark magic is dangerous. It’s what created your dad, it’s something no self-respecting witch would consider. Maybe a desperate one though.” Hazel says cryptically.
I shake my head, refusing her explanation. We’re dealing with dark magic. Again! I barely survived last time; I don’t want to have to do this again.
Liam stands and walks over to me, wrapping his arms around me and pulling me to his chest. He holds me tightly, not saying a word, just comforting me.
There’s nothing to say. None of us want to go through this again.
The door opens and Griffon walks in. He looks like he’s ready to go another round with us, and I close my eyes and hide my face in Liam’s chest.
I’d almost rather him yell, then know what we have to tell him.
The air of tension depletes slightly, and I know he’s confused by what we’re all doing. “I swear if this has something to do with Nadia…” He doesn’t finish, seemingly letting us come up with the rest of it.
“This isn’t about that.” Dallas says calmly. I finally look over at Griffon, and Liam’s arms tighten around me. Let us talk to our son.” Liam orders the
group.
Everyone leaves except Dallas, but he walks to the other side of the room and sits down in a chair, looking out the window. Liam loosens his hold on me and pulls me behind his desk again, but we don’t sit.
“Sit.” Liam orders Griffon and Griffon’s eyes narrow and he shakes his head. “No. Tell me what’s going on.” He
orders in return.
Liam sighs loudly as I try not to cry. Griffon barely spares me a glance, but when he does, I can see the confusion that crosses his face.
“It’s about your grandparents.” Liam starts and Griffon scoffs. “What’s the big deal? You kicked me out, so I asked to stay with them. Is all this really necessary?” Griffon asks and my eyes shoot up to his.
“You asked to stay with them?” I ask him and he looks even more confused, “Yeah. Isn’t that why you guys are pissed? Should we have stayed on the street?” Griffon asks angrily and I shake my head.
“You can’t go back there. You can stay here, at least til you figure something else out.” I tell him and he shakes his head. “Grandma told me no. Said if you don’t like Nadia then she doesn’t either. So, we’re not staying there. Thanks to you.” He growls and I take a deep breath.
My eyes moving back and forth quickly as I look at the floor. Would any of this had happened if Julia would have said yes? Would them having been there stopped the attack or would Griffon and Nadia be dead too?
“What the hell is going on?” Griffon asks again. Liam takes a deep breath, then tells him. “Your grandparents

were murdered either last night or this morning.” He tells him and Griffon’s face drains of all color.
“What?” He asks, and looks over at me as if confirming it’s the truth. “I’m sorry, Sweetie.” I tell him, taking a step forward to comfort him, but he takes a step back from me. He shakes his head, and looks up at me again.
“This is your fault! If you didn’t make this whole pack hate Nadia, grandma would have let us stay. I could have been there! I could have protected her!” Griffon shouts, taking a step closer to me.
Liam and Dallas’s growls echo throughout the room, as I stand staring at my son. Can I even be upset? It’s what I was thinking not three minutes ago, and now it’s out in the open.
“That is the last time you disrespect your mother! Get out of my house, and don’t come back until you remember who you’re talking to!” Liam shouts, and I swear the whole pack could hear him.
His words ring in my ears, as my head turns slowly to look at him.
