Chapter 235
I look at how different he looks. His body so large I can barely understand how he moves. His jaw sharper and covered in a full beard, his hair longer and pulled back into a tight bun. But he still looks like him. I can still see traces of his father, no matter how much he’s tried to hide it.
His green eyes pierce into mine, but I don’t react. I won’t.
He smirks at me, “Finally, find your mate and all you do is stand there?” He asks cruelly and I see Dallas glance between both of us.
I give him a sweet smile. “I’ve known you were my mate since I was fifteen, Griffy. This is hardly a surprise to me.” I say sweetly, still making no move to move closer to him.
My wolf doesn’t beg, doesn’t make me want to crawl over to him, because she knows we have more important things to accomplish, and this meeting is important in accomplishing it.
I see a flash of something cross his eyes, but it’s gone in an instant as his face hardens even more, and he glares at me. “Alpha.” He growls.
I tilt my head, “You’re not my Alpha, Griffy. Micah is.” I tell him, and a low growl leaves his throat.
I notice Dallas shift just slightly, but I saw it. He’s scared Griffon might hurt me.
I don’t know if he’d protect me from my mate’s wrath, but maybe it was some kind of warning.
I smile widely at Griffon. He looks over me from head to toe and his jaw ticks. “What are you doing here?” He growls and I shrug. “Today’s my birthday.” I tell him.
He grunts then goes to sit down in his chair. “Happy birthday. Now leave.” He growls, starting to rifle through the papers on his desk.
I smirk, “Aw… Come on, Griffy. Don’t be like that. Did you get me a present?” I ask, walking further into the room and sitting down in the chair on the other side of his desk.
His eyes move to me, but not his head, making him look like he’s about to attack me, but I’ll take my chances.
“What do you want, Aspen? Is it a rejection your after?” He asks, sitting back in his chair and giving me his full
attention.
I shrug, “Maybe. We can discuss that later though.” I say, trying to pretend like him being so willing to reject me doesn’t tear me apart.
I may not want the Griffon that sits before me, but I always loved the Griffon I fell in love with when I was a little kid and always will.
He may be gone, but I swear I can still see him. He’s in there and I’m not willing to lose him until I have no other choice.
He sighs deeply, “Then what do you want?” He growls, still angry that I won’t leave.
I don’t give myself another second to consider this as I jump on the desk a silver knife sliding from my sleeve and placing it at his neck.

The tip buries into his neck, as he grunts out surprised.
I’ve gotten further than I expected to get, like Dallas and Griffon, both want me to do this. So, I sit frozen in this position for a second his eyes frozen on mine, not really wanting to kill him, before Dallas finally tackles me. Throwing me off the desk and to the ground.
A roar leaves Griffon as he stands and grabs me from Dallas and shoves me up against the wall. My head slams into the wall and I grunt as the pain shoots down my spine.
He looks over my face, I swear I see confusion before he masks it. “What the hell, Aspen. Who sent you to do this?” He growls, and I smirk. “No one.” I say sweetly, trying to breath through the hand he places on my neck.
He doesn’t cut off my air completely. He doesn’t really want to kill me.
My smirk widens, “Is this how you felt, Griffy? Being held to a wall against your will?” I ask him and his eyes harden further, if that’s even possible.
His grip hardens again, but still not enough to kill me.
His eyes study mine. What he’s searching for, I’m not sure, but he won’t find it.
I’ve never been weak and now I’m even stronger than before.
He growls, then throws me back to Dallas, “Take her to the cells.”
Dallas grabs me and throws my hands behind my back, placing silver chains around my wrist and yanking me
out of the room.
As he walks me through the halls, we pass Finn and Randy. I smirk at them as their eyes widen and they look at me like I’ve lost my mind.
“Hey, boys.” I say to them as I pass. Dallas gripping me harder down the hall and I look back at them and wink.
We get to the new and improved cells underneath the fortress and Dallas throws me in one. I grunt as I fall to the ground and curse at the treatment.
Dallas walks in and bends over to undo the cuffs, “Foolish.” He hisses low in my ear, and I just smirk as I grab
