Chapter 275
I stare at him in shock, I didn’t know he felt my pain while I was gone. Goddess. “I’m sorry you had to feel that, Dallas. I didn’t know.” I whisper and he shakes his head. “I didn’t tell you so you’d feel sorry for me, I told you because you deserve to know I could have done more and didn’t. Instead, I just kept failing and allowing your son to fail to.” He tells me and I shake my head.
“Stop blaming yourself for Griffon. He went down a path, that I’m hoping he’s attempting to crawl back from. I just want everything to be back to normal and until you two make your peace with everyone that can’t happen. So, if you want to make things right, that’s what I want.” I tell him and he looks over at Mia.
She smirks like she has all the control, and I smile at her. Loving and having been missing this sass for so long.” Guess your forgiveness falls into my hands, Dally.” She smirks, and he chuckles, “What do you want Mia?” He asks, and she glowers at him.
“I want to know what happened to Aspen when she came here to get Hazel.” She tells him and he grimaces. “I want to know if I’ll ever be able to forgive Griffon and that’ll help me decide, because she left my house in one piece and came back bleeding.” She finishes and stares at him waiting.
He looks over at me like I might save him, but I’m honestly curious why she left here bleeding as well.
“I honestly don’t know what happened to her arm. We came down here to go see Clara and it was just there. Griffon was furious. He begged her to tell him who hurt her, but she wouldn’t. Her stomach…” He grimaces again and looks down the hall. With a deep sigh, “Cam was getting whipped because he let her through the gates with a knife, that she tried to kill Griffon with. We know know it was a ploy, but that’s why she was down here to begin with. He was just trying to get her to leave before she did that. But she didn’t agree with the punishment, so she kicked me in the balls and ran up to block the whip, getting herself whipped in the process. It was one time, and you could see how much it affected Griffon to have hurt her. It wasn’t aimed at her; she ran in front of it.” He explains, and when I look at Mia she’s grinning.
“Aspen kicked you in the balls?” She asks him and he glares at her, “Yes.” He growls and I chuckle. His head. snaps to me, and we all start laughing.
The laughter dies down and Mia looks over at Dallas, “So, she wasn’t lying. Neither of you really hurt her. The whip was a mistake.”
He nods, “Even with Griffon being the way he was, he never wanted to hurt Aspen. I know that’s why he let you guys leave. To keep her away. Even if it was before the mate bond snapped into place, Griffon has always loved her. I know they have their things to work out, but I really hope they do, because I honestly think she’s the only one whose ever been able to truly save him from himself.” Dallas says, and we all sit in silence again.
