Chapter 287

I shift back into my human self and walk over to my dresser to grab my clothes and get dressed.

I feel like this will be hard to prove. If she can read my thoughts, she’ll know what I’m doing, but she could also try and trick me into thinking she has no idea what’s going on and I’ll think she doesn’t hear my mind-links, when she really does.

I really need to think about how to test this.

I can’t just think of something huge that she’ll for sure comment on if she hears it, because I can’t warn anyone about what I’m doing. If I tell Liam, I know how to get rid of her, it’ll just excite him too much and it’ll hurt him more if I tell him, it’s not true and I was just testing the witch.

And I can’t do it to someone who wouldn’t necessarily be as upset if I told them I lied, because then she would know something is up. She knows who’s important to me and would know if I was telling a random person something big, that something was up.

I just really need to think this through.

“Liam’s cancelling the full moon run.” Dallas says to me, and I look over at him. “What? Why?” I ask him and he looks at my head, then down into my eyes. “Safety, I would assume.” He tells me, and I take a deep breath.

‘Liam, you can’t cancel. I’ll be locked away. I won’t be able to hurt anyone.’ I mind-link him. ‘It’s not just a safety concern. I don’t want to be that far from you.’ He tells me, and I sigh.

I get it. As Alpha he leads the full moon run and being away from me during it would be hard on him. ‘I’ll be fine. You need to let your wolf out and you know it. He’s been locked inside for too long. He needs to run. All of you guys need a good run.’ I tell him.

‘We’ll live. Everyone else can run whenever they feel like it. I don’t want something happening and being too far away to get to you. I won’t. Not to mention we don’t know what this full moon will be like, it might be best for everyone to just stay inside.’ He says, and I shake my head.

‘Keeping all their wolves under control on a full moon is going to be impossible.’ I tell him and he just sighs through the link. ‘I’ll try and figure something out. You’re right. I doubt everyone will be able to control it. Plus, we have a few kids that it’ll be their first full moon. They definitely won’t be able to control it.’ He tells me and I nod even though he can’t see me.

‘Cancelling the full moon run. That’s an interesting choice.’ The witch sneers in my head, like the idea of that pisses her off.
