“Couldn’t have said it better myself.” We both look up to see Walker walking into the room. His eyes trained on me, like he’s never seen me before. “If only this Griffon had been around two years ago.” He tells me and my jaw clenches as I look down at the ground.

He comes closer and stands beside me, placing his hand on my shoulder. “I think I get it. If even Liam can have doubts about the witches… I think I can understand where everything came from.” He says and I look up at him, his eyes softening. “I also need to thank you. I was told my daughter tried to kill herself and you wouldn’t let that happen. I owe you one for that. So, thank you for making sure she made it home.” He tells me, and I just blink at him. Surprised he’s saying all this to me.

I shake my head, “You don’t have to thank me. I’d never let your daughter get hurt if I can help it.”

He smirks, “I know you wouldn’t, but still… Thank you.” He responds and I give him a curt nod.

He lets go of my shoulder and looks over at dad, “Griffon’s right. You need to get back into shape. If a fight’s coming, you’ll just slow us down. You’re going to start training with me in the morning.”

Dad shakes his head, and starts to speak, but Walker cuts him off. “No. You’re doing this. We won’t even leave this building. We’ll use the gym here, so you’re not too far away. You have no excuses.” He says absolutely, leaving no room for argument.

Dad sighs loudly but gives him a curt nod. “Fine.” He whispers, then walks back over to the desk and sits down.

I glance at Walker before walking back over to the chair I was sitting in and sitting down. A knock on the door, has us all turning. “Sorry.” Lenny grimaces. “I don’t really know where I stand anymore, so I didn’t know if I needed to knock.” He tells the room, and I purse my lips.
