Chapter 294
‘You want this.’ A voice I’ve never heard before filters through my brain. I look around to see if anyone else is here, but I don’t see anyone. ‘All the drama, all the pain. Don’t you just want it all to be over?’ The voice continues, and I shake my head. “Not like this.” I tell it, and I swear I hear someone cackle.
‘This is the way. The way to save everybody. A way for all of you to meet the Goddess and live happy afterlives together. We can make this happen.’ The voice says and I continue to shake my head. “Amy? What’s going on? I can’t hear your thoughts.” Leah says from beside me and I grab my head to stop the impending headache from getting worse.
“Amy! We have to do something! She’s headed to Hazel’s!” Leah shouts at me, and my head snaps up to see Hazel’s house in my vision.
No. No. No. She’s probably all alone! I push at the back of my mind, and I feel it budge, but nothing happens. I have to do something!
The witch reaches my hand out to the doorknob and something inside clicks, and she turns the knob and walks inside. “Leah! Help me!” I beg her as I continue to push.
I don’t know how any of this works, but I have to do something. I have to help my
friend.
The witch walks through the house like she knows it, and lands at Hazel’s office. She turns the knob and opens
the door.
Hazel looks up from a book she has open in front of her. “You escaped?” She asks calmly and the witch nods, Obviously.” She says angrily, slowly walking around the door and closing it behind her. Then she says something softly and a blue sheer light encases the door.
The witch looks back at Hazel, and Hazel’s eyes move between the door and the witch. “You can use your powers? Even inside her.” She asks almost like she’s intrigued. The witch chuckles, “Oh, the things I can do now would astonish you.” The witch replies.
Hazel nods, “Well, if you plan on killing me anyway can you at least explain some of them to me first?” Hazel asks, and my eyes scrunch as I take in the completely calm demeanor of my friend.
“Answer my questions first.” The witch sneers. Hazel nods and looks up at the witch waiting. “Why are you helping them? You could be so much more than the wolf’s bitch.”

My hand suddenly falls through the invisible construct of a wall I’m pretty sure my mind created and I start to fall. My body flips over and over itself until I slam down in the black space of my mind I usually go when I shift. I look through my wolves eyes and see Hazel looking up at me. Her face bloody and eyes having trouble staying focused.
My wolf walks closer and Hazel flinches like she’s not sure if I’ll hurt her or not.
My wolf nuzzles into her cheek with a whimper and Hazel nods and rests her hand on her head. “I’ll be okay.” She whispers before her eyes close, and hand drops from my head.
One last whimper and my wolf looks towards the door.
We’re still trapped in here, the witch’s power still holding the spell placed on the door. When suddenly it flies off it’s hinges and against the wall, shattering.
I don’t stop to see who or what made this happen, I just run. Away from Hazel, away from what my body did, into the woods.
