Chapter 299
I walk down to the cells with Finn and Randy. Now that their magic is out in the open, Hazel’s been allowing them to help out with research a bit more. So, we’ve been spending a bit more time together.
They’re actually really skilled with their magic having had to cover it up for so long. “How do you think Amy’s doing?” Randy whispers to me, and I turn my head to look at him. “I think she has a witch inside her causing her to go a little crazy, but she’s going to try and act like everything is fine.” I tell him and his face saddens.
“Why do you think the Goddess chose her to deal with all this?” He asks in return, and I grit my teeth. “You know the stories as well as I do. The Goddess chose her mother. Not her. It just ended up being her.” I answer and Finn shakes his head, “Stop talking about it. We’re almost there.” He hisses and Randy nods.
Finn’s always been more of the take charge twin while Randy’s always been quieter and more reserved.
We walk in and Liam, Dallas, Griffon, mom and dad are all already here. I knew we’d beat Hazel and Cole, and I’m curious if Nick is even coming.
I miss Heather, it was nice living closer to her. Being able to see her more often, but I’m where I need to be.
I already feel Griffon’s eyes on me, like a moth to flame, my eyes travel to him. He’s putting in the work, I think the only people left are Hazel and Cole. I really think Finn and Randy have mostly forgiven him. They just need their parents to as well, which I can respect.
My eyes move from Griffon and look over at Liam. He’s sitting at the table outside Amy’s cell; her arm stretched through it so he can hold her hand. He pays no attention to us walking in the room, just pulls her hand up to his lips and places a gentle kiss there.
I take a deep breath; I hate that they’re going through this. I’ve never wanted to make something more right in my life. Their love story was how we all learned what love even was. Hearing the things they had to overcome to be together is what gives me hope for Griffon and me.
Griffon walks over to me and takes the pasta salad from my hands. “Hey.” He says, and I smirk. “Hey.”
He rolls his eyes and walks over to the table with all the food on it and I go sit across from Liam and look at Amy.
