Full Moon Curse (by Dream) novel Chapter 42

Chapter 42

I chuckle, “The moon man?” I ask, he smiles. “Yeah, the story all our parents would tell us to keep us in our beds at night, before we knew how to shift. You wanna hear it?” He says and I laugh, “Oh, I one hundred percent want to hear this story.” I say and he grins. “Alright, let’s get you home and I’ll call over the guys. Dallas is really the best at telling it.” He says and then walks me home, keeping his arm wrapped around me to keep me warm the whole time.

I sneak a look at him, he really is beautiful. The way his eyes glow in the moonlight, the way his structured chin moves when he smiles, the way his hair moves with the wind so perfectly, he could be a god. Everything about him just screams perfection, and he wants me. I hadn’t realized he felt that way, back then and especially not now. Does Dallas know? Is that why he tried so hard to make me apart of the group?

Liam looks down at me, while I’m still looking at him and our eyes lock. He pulls us to a stop when we’re almost past his house. He turns us so our fronts are connected, and cups my cheek in his hand. “What are you thinking about, Amy?” I bite my lip and try to look down, but he doesn’t let me. My whole body is screaming at me to just let him take me right here, up against the house. I can’t deny how much he turns me on, whether I’m willing to take it that far or not. He closes his eyes and gently places his forehead on mine, taking a couple deep breathes. Can he sense my arousal? Goddess. He pulls away grabbing my hand. He keeps us at arms length away from each other, not pulling me into his side again, and keeps walking back to my house.

Once we’re in view of my house, I can see the guys already gathered around my front porch. We walk up to them, “That was fast.” I say and they all grin, “Well, we’ve been waiting for you guys since school let out.” Cole claims, I chuckle and open my door. “Why have you been waiting for us that long?” I ask and look back at them.” We were bored.” Walker shrugs and everyone finds a spot to sit. I walk over and take off all my layers and head upstairs to change.

Dallas follows me up to my room, which I note Liam watching wryly. Once we’re in my room, he goes and sits on my bed, twisting the fabric of my pink comforter in his fingers, looking at the blanket. I go sit next to him, instead of changing, because he’s acting weird. “You okay?” I ask, and he grabs my hand with his and places it in his lap, adding his other hand so my hand is completely covered. He squeezes my hand, looking me over from head to toe. “I just wanted to make sure this was real.” He answers, I tilt my head in confusion. “What do you mean?” He takes a deep breath, “Last night just didn’t feel real to me. I woke up this morning fully believing last night was a dream. If Liam wouldn’t have mind-linked me and told me he was with you, I don’t think I’d believed it at all. It just doesn’t feel real that you’ve forgiven us.” He finishes. I squeeze his hand the best I can in his grip, “I know the feeling, but I don’t think I need to forgive you guys. I believe you guys when you say you didn’t do anything. I was just scared and I think I wanted to believe the worst in you guys. I think it’s easier for me to believe you guys set me up then believe any of this is real.”

He looks at me sadly, “I want to make one thing clear, regardless of if I’ve said it before.” He lets go of my hand and grabs my face with both of his hands, so I’m looking directly into his eyes. “I will never hurt you. I will not ever leave you. I will never let anyone hurt you. Not anymore. I don’t care if every guy down there decides they don’t want you around, I’m not going anywhere.” I can feel the tears burning the back of my eyes from his words. “Not that, that’ll happen. They all love you. I just want you to know how serious I am about this friendship. I’m here and I always will be.” He says everything with such sincerity, with such passion in his eyes, that I believe every word he says. He releases my head and I jump up wrapping my arms around his neck hugging him tightly. “I believe you, Dallas. And I’m going to hold you to it.” I say practically crying into his neck as he wraps his arms around me squeezing me back tightly, while I ignore the pain it causes my ribs.

We walk downstairs together, after I changed in an t-shirt and leggings. Dallas goes to stand in front of the tv,

clearly excited to tell this story. I go sit down next to Liam on the couch, while Walker and Cole are in their respective chairs. “Hold on, be right back.” Liam says as he jumps over the back of the couch and runs upstairs. He comes back down a second later and throws the hoodie he gave me on me. All the guys have smirks on their faces, but they aren’t looking at us. I should be embarrassed or awkward, but I’m not, this just feels right.

“Alright, everybody ready now?” Dallas says jokingly. We all nod, and he goes to turn off the lights. He walks back in front of the tv, I only know this because I can hear him. He turns on a flashlight and points it towards his face. Man, he’s going all out for this story.
