Chapter 68

She sighs looking up at me, “They’re going to ask.” I look down, “I know, just tell them I’m leaving but probably won’t be gone for long. If they want to say goodbye, tell them to meet me in the morning. I have too much to do right now.” I tell her, not a complete lie, but not the complete truth either. She looks down and then stands up, walking over to hug me. “I always knew you’d leave me eventually, but this is a lot harder than I thought it was going to be.” She says and pulls away, I give her a small smile in agreement. Then she walks out of my room. I go to my window to watch her leave and see all the guys standing on Liam’s porch staring at her.

She walks over slowly, and instantly starts crying once she’s in Walker’s arms. I see her saying something, and then all the guys look up at my house. They all have a mix of emotions on their faces, none of them happy though. Liam starts walking over here, but Mia pulls on his arm to stop him. He yanks out of her hold and storms over here. Frightened I take a step back, hoping he doesn’t see me. Then I hear yelling. When I peak outside, the guard is fighting to keep Liam from entering my house. I see he has tears in his eyes, as he looks up at my window, but that’s the last thing I see before I decide to leave the window and get to packing.

I never wanted to leave like this, so abruptly, but maybe this will be good. I can get away from the guys and start over. No matter what has happened over the last few months, this is necessary. I can’t cling onto Liam forever, he’d eventually let me go and where would that leave me?

No, this is for the best.

My mom’s been gone all day, and I have my bags packed and ready by the front door. I’ve decided to look at this positively, so still no tears. I go to sit on my couch not really sure what to do, when I hear a knock on the door. I go to look and see all my friends by the door. I open it and look at them confused, Dallas puts his hands up. “Just a movie night, no talking about…” He looks down acting like he can’t finish the sentence. “Just a couple movies, Aims.” He pleads and I can’t say no to him. I open the door wider, and they all walk in. To my surprise, Liam isn’t with them.

We all sit down in our normal spots, except this time Mia sits next to me. I try not to look upset that he’s not here, because this is good right? Mia must sense it though. “He said he wouldn’t come pretend that it’s okay that you’re leaving.” She whispers sadly and I look over at Dallas, who looks close to tears. I go wrap myself up in his arms and settle in to watch the movie that Walker actually figured out how to work this time. He looks so proud of himself.

Throughout the movie, Mia finds her way over to me and cuddles to the other side of me. She kind of had to, Dallas has a death grip on me right now, I couldn’t leave if I wanted to.
