Full Moon Curse (by Dream) novel Chapter 9

Chapter 9

Our house isn’t huge by any means, but we have a second floor for the three bedrooms, that sits over our two car garage attached to the first floor where the living room, kitchen and dining room are on the first floor. It’s home, and I love it. My mom has done nothing but make sure we survive and has always done a great job at it. I want for nothing material wise. Regardless, when I leave this house will always be home, even with all the bad memories that lay outside of it.

I hear a knock at the door, not expecting anybody I go to see who’s there. When the door opens, I’m mean’t with Dallas’s tall frame leaning against the opening. “Hey, what are you doing tonight?” He asks. Seeing him reminds me of earlier with Liam, I instantly get upset. “Dallas, why are you telling people I’m your girl?” I ask, letting him know I’m upset. His smile fades, “I’m not telling anybody you’re my girl. They have just seen us together and are assuming.” He explains, but it does nothing to calm me.

“Look, I’m fine with being friends, but I think we should cool it with the being seen together so often. I don’t need people getting the wrong idea.” I look straight at him, his expression becoming unreadable. “Aims, friends hang out. I’m not trying for anything more, I promise.” He responds, I look at my feet. He’s not wrong, friends do hang out, but it’s different. If the she devils read to much into it, it’s just going to mean more hell for me. I still am not sure if this is part of his plan or not, but if he really has no intention of hurting me, I need to set boundaries. “Okay. So, since we’re friends you wouldn’t mind me inviting Mia with us to whatever it is you were about to ask me to go do?” I ask hoping he says no. I just want to go lay in my bed, and read a good book, or get some homework done.

He smiles down at me, “Of course not. I wanted to take you to the movies so you could show me how you make up your own lines. It’ll be even better having another expert there to help you.” He says excitedly, I give him a questioning look. “Okay…. Well, I’ll have to call her. What time’s the movie?” I ask. He smirks, “I’ll pick you both up at seven thirty!” And with that he jumps off my porch and heads over to his Alpha’s house. Oh Goddess, please say they aren’t all coming.

“Mia! Stop!” I laugh at her. She came over soon after Dallas left, so we could hang out for a little while before we go, to something that I assume will be awkward and weird. Mia laughs and stops kissing my pillow. She believes Dallas is in love with me, and is trying to get on my good side so he can tell me. I keep telling her she’s ridiculous, and there is no way he’s in love with me. He barely knows me. She however, is not convinced.

“So, tonight is just to hang out? Are his friends coming as well?” Mia asks, I roll my eyes and grunt into my pillow that Mia hasn’t currently violated. “I don’t know. This is all just silly. Everyone in this town could tell you how us being friends with them is going to end. Why are they wasting their time if this isn’t just some joke?” Mia gives me a look of pity that makes me want to crawl away. “I…” Mia starts when we hear a knock at my bedroom door.

My mom comes into the room slowly, and looks us up and down. Our crop tops and jeans being a huge difference from our normal oversized sweaters and sweatpants, to laze around the house all night. She smiles, “You guys going out tonight?” Mia smiles widely, “Oh, yes! Dallas invited us to the movies!” She looks at me and winks. My mom observes us and seems to be thinking about something. “He invited both of you?” I smile, “Yes mom. He invited both of us, as friends. We should be home after the movie. Unless, you don’t want me to go. I could text him.” I say starting to pull my phone out of my pocket to text him. I should have thought about that, I should have just told him my mom said no. I rarely have to ask to do things, so the thought didn’t even cross my mind. My mom however had other plans. “No, no, I want you to go. I think that’ll be good for you.” She moves her gaze to Mia. “Make sure she goes and has fun.” Mia’s grin widens, “Oh, I will!” I roll my eyes and my mom looks back at me. “I’m going to head into work, but be safe. I love you.” She walks over to me and kisses my

cheek. “Bye, mom.” I say with mock anger, which makes her smile as she says bye to Mia and walks out of my door.

Not five minutes later, there’s a knock at the door. I slowly walk to the front door and let Dallas in. He looks around to find Mia. “I saw Mia’s car. Is she not coming?” Dallas asks still looking for her. “Yeah, she’s still coming. She just wanted to touch up her make-up real quick before we left.” Which I know is code for answer the door without me, to see what happens. Dallas smiles at me, seemingly knowing what she’s doing. “See, it’s not just my friends. Is it?” He smirks, I roll my eyes at him. “No, I suppose not.” I grunt and go to put on my jacket by the door.
