Chapter 92

It’s been a week of bliss with Liam. Every chance we get we’re on top of one another. I don’t know what came over me that night, but the feeling of relief to have that house gone, and him telling me he loved me, it made me see things a little clearer.
We’re sitting at the dining table for breakfast, when Julia walks in. She’s going through the mail, while Liam and I are flirting under the table. I still miss my mom, there’s a hole in my heart that can never be replaced, but I have had amazing support throughout all of this. Making things slightly easier, regardless of me thinking about her daily.
Julia walks over to me and holds out a small blue envelope to me. “Looks like you got some mail, sweetie.” She says as I take the envelope from her saying thank you. I look over it confused about who would send me a letter. There’s no return address on it, not even a stamp, just my name on front in cursive. That thought makes my heart beat a little faster. Whoever sent this letter must have just sat it in the mailbox.
Liam looks over at me, sensing my nervousness. He looks at the envelope and gets the same confused look on his face as I have.
I peel it open and start reading.
‘Dear Sweetheart,
I really enjoyed our meeting together, I hope you had as much fun as me. I hear you’ve learned a little bit about me, and that makes me so happy. I’ve also learned a little about you to.
I know who all your friends are. Where you’re staying. What you’ve been up to. I’ve even meant one of your friends. Very sweet, very pretty girl, I can see why you like her.
Now, I want you to know I am coming for you. I’ve waited far too long, and it’s time. Say your goodbyes, or this won’t be the last message you receive. See you soon sweetheart.
Love,
Daddy
My hands start shaking as I take in everything I just read. I look up at Liam with wide eyes, “Mia.” I say, and then race for the door. Liam doesn’t question me and follows me out grabbing his keys.
I sit in the passenger seat, trying to call Mia. The phone keeps going to voicemail. I look over at Liam scared, and he steps down harder on the gas.
The car barely comes to a stop before I jump out racing to her house. I run inside, without knocking, and race to her room.
I see her laying on her bed covered in blood. She’s been hit several times and has blood coming from her torso. Liam’s next to me in seconds, assessing the situation. “Amy, go stand in the hall.” He yells, as I try and put pressure on her stomach. I shake my head in shock and end up looking behind him. There’s a message on the wall for me, ‘I left her alive this time. Next time she won’t be so lucky.’ I stare at it in shock. “Fuck! Amy the ambulance is on the way! Please go stand in the hall!” He yells. I get it he doesn’t want me to see this. He doesn’t want me to remember what happened, but it’s too late for that. He wants me and is willing to hurt anyone I care about to make sure he gets to me.
