Dallas holds me tight as the paramedic’s rush Mia out of the house. I watch her face as they take her past me, she hardly looks like herself. I watch her all the way to the ambulance, and they shut the doors on us and drive

away.

I turn when I hear the guys coming from the house and look at Liam. I can see worry written all over his face as he looks at me, then up at Dallas. I think I’m in shock, because I feel like a stone, I can’t move. Liam walks up to me, as Walker and Cole rush past to get into Walker’s suv. Liam’s saying something to me, but I can’t hear him. He’s careful not to touch me, and I look down at his hands to see why, they’re covered in blood.

I look at the rest of his body covered in blood as well, so much blood. Then I look down at my body, so much of her blood covers my body. I start shaking and I can’t stop looking at my clothes.

Liam finally gets my attention, “Pick her up, we need to shower and get the the hospital.” He orders Dallas, and I finally snap out of it and look up at Liam, “No! I need to get to the hospital. I need to make sure she’s going to be okay!” I yell, and he looks at me worried. “Angel, if she wakes up and sees you covered in blood it’ll just worry her. We can do that if you want, but I think we really need to clean up first.” He says sweetly, and I nod. I don’t want to worry her. All three of us take the fastest showers we can, get dressed and make it to the hospital. I can see both of them watching me, ready for me to snap. I’ll snap once I know she’s okay, I need her to be okay. A thought occurs to me, and I look up at Liam, “Her parents?” He pulls me closer to him and kisses the top of my head. “On their way.”

We’re able to go see her later that night, and I’m so nervous walking in. Once the door is opened, she’s cleaned off from all the blood, but her face still looks pretty messed up from the beating she took. I’m so happy he left her alive, but why? Why didn’t he kill her? I wonder as I look over her body. Goddess, this is all my fault. I need to leave, I can’t have anyone else hurt, or worse.

She smiles up at me and grabs for my hand. I race closer, not wanting her to exert too much energy and grab her hand. I look into her eyes and feel mine start to tear up. “Aims, I’m good. I’ll heal. Stop doing that.” She says, and I look around trying to see what I’m doing. Am I stepping on something? She chuckles, “Stop blaming yourself. He’s a crazy person. This isn’t your fault.” She explains, and I look down. I may not be physically causing the pain, but I’m the reason it’s happening.

Liam walks up behind me and puts his arm around my waist. They’re all looking at me worried, like I’m going to sprint out of here in the next second to meet my psycho dad. I’m not the one in the bed, injured. But they know she’ll heal. She’s a wolf, she’ll probably be all better in two days, but that won’t be the case if one of them die. They can’t heal from that
