Chapter 174 No Useful Clues.
Nira’s POV:
Another inmate clutched his head tightly and let out a low scream.
“Stay away! Don’t come near me!”
I paid no heed to their frightened reactions.
I had grown used to such sights ever since Lyra awakened fully inside my body.
I kept my gaze straight ahead and walked forward without slowing down.

The warden wiped cold sweat off his forehead and spoke cautiously, “Miss Soren, Nolan’s mental state is extremely unstable right now. Are you certain you wish to see him?”
I shot him a cold glance and replied sharply, “Why else would I come here late at night? Just for fun?”
He shook his head nervously. “No, that is not what I meant. I merely worry he might hurt you in his deranged state.”
That foolish man stands no chance of harming me. It’s nothing but a pointless fantasy.
I let out a scornful chuckle. “Just lead the way. This is none of your concern.”
Daring not to argue further, he quickened his pace and guided me to Nolan’s cell.
The moment the cell door opened, a pungent mix of mildew and blood drifted out.
Nolan huddled in the corner. His hair was messy, his clothes torn and ragged. His eyes hollow and vacant.

He grabbed random debris and stuffed it into his mouth, mumbling vague words nonstop.
I gestured silently. The warden unlocked the iron gate right away.
I stepped inside and stared coldly at the man. I slowly crouched down, grabbed his chin and forced him to lift his head.
“Do
you still remember me, Nolan?” His past evil deeds flashed through my mind, and I craved to strike him down instantly.
Nolan’s eyes remained unfocused as he babbled endlessly, “No… stay back… devils… all of you are devils…”

Watching his insane and delirious state, I let Lyra detect his scent thoroughly.
I released his chin and stood up, sighing with disdain. “He has truly lost his mind.”

Nolan was the one who suggested locking me up here years ago. I simply returned the favor and left him trapped in this place.
He proved far weaker than expected, driven mad in just a few months‘ time.
The warden lingered by the doorway and asked timidly, “Miss Soren, is there anything else you require?”
I turned around and fixed him with a stern look. “Leave me alone here.”
“Understood.” He looked greatly relieved. “Call for me anytime you need assistance.”
I narrowed my eyes while staring at the huddled figure. I pulled a small pocket watch–shaped metal device out of my pocket.
I walked over and crouched down before Nolan. I swayed the gadget gently before his gradually releasing Lyra’s inner power.
His sight locked onto the device, his gaze growing hazy and his murmurs fading away.
“Look straight at me,” I spoke in a firm, commanding tone.
His empty eyes slowly regained focus.
eyes,
“Tell me everything you know about the baby swap between Janice and me,” I pressed for answers without delay.
Nolan’s lips trembled, his voice rough and mechanical.
“Janice… she was born to an Omega servant… Nira… you are the true child of the Soren family.”
This piece of information held no new value. It seemed he truly knew nothing deeper.
I frowned and kept questioning him. “Did the Soren family make any deadly enemies nineteen years ago? Were you acquainted with any mutated werewolves?”
His mouth quivered again, speaking haltingly in a dull tone.
“I… I don’t know… no enemies at all…”
Disappointment washed over me after hearing his reply.
