Evelyn was absolutely furious. Her fangs were showing, and she snarled at me, “You little witch! How dare you talk back at a moment like this? Holden, take her to the discipline hall right now!”
Holden furrowed his brow and gestured for the attendants to seize me.
But I was quicker. In just a few moves, I had every single attendant who came at me pinned down on the floor.
“Ah! My leg–it’s broken!”
“Oww, I can’t see anything!”
Lucas stared at me, wide–eyed and trembling, as he pointed in my direction. “You… you don’t even have a wolf spirit. How can you fight like that?”
Holden’s wolf eyes widened, but he didn’t dare step forward to challenge me. “Nira… Ms. Soren, this is completely out of line!”
I just scoffed, dusted off my hands, and turned to walk away.
Evelyn stomped her foot and shouted after me, “Don’t you dare walk away! Do you really think you can just run off? Agatha will not let this go!”
I didn’t even bother responding to their pointless outburst. I headed straight for the Shadowgrid Squad training grounds…
When Agatha found out what happened, her face went pale with rage. She slammed her cane hard against the floor. “She’s gone too far! Does she really believe no one in the Soren family can put her in her place?”
Holden stood beside her and spoke cautiously, “Ms. Soren truly overstepped. We held back because we didn’t want to harm her, and she used that chance to escape.
“After all you’ve done for her, she openly defies you like this. She has no respect for you whatsoever. If she actually ends up marrying into the Howell family, she’ll never support the Sorens.”
Agatha let out a cold, harsh laugh, her wolf–like eyes narrowing with a dangerous glint. “Hmph. Whether she’s truly a Soren or not is for me to decide. Since she’s so ungrateful, she shouldn’t blame me for getting ruthless.”

Nira’s POV:
After leaving Soren Manor, I walked into the main hall of the Shadowgrid Squad headquarters.
And there, to my surprise, was Kade.
He was standing next to the head trainer, both of them looking serious, as if they were in the middle of an important discussion.
When he saw me, his usually stern expression softened a little.
He quickly wrapped things up with the trainer and walked over to me.
“What are you doing here?” I asked, confused.
Kade’s lips curved into a slight smile as he replied quietly, “Just handling some business.”
He paused, then frowned slightly, his eyes filled with concern. “You look upset. Who got under your skin?”
Instead of answering, I looked him straight in the eye and said bluntly, “Kade, let’s call off the engagement.”
His pupils tightened instantly.
He swallowed hard, as if holding back some strong emotion.
“Why bring this up now?” His voice was still gentle, but I could hear the tension underneath.
I pressed my lips together and answered calmly, “Because ever since this engagement happened, the main branch of the Sorens has been all over me, and it’s become a real headache. Besides, we only got engaged to make it easier to treat your condition. That’s not an issue anymore, so there’s no reason to keep the arrangement going.”
