Chapter 230 The Winery Gathering Turns Into a Showdown

The second I stepped out of the café, a loud crash exploded behind me. A cup had been thrown to the floor. It shattered into pieces.
I didn’t even bother turning around. That kind of stunt didn’t impress me.
At the end of the day, Olivia still didn’t dare do anything to a “worthless Omega without a wolf spirit.”
Which was exactly why I never considered her a real rival.
She was all bark and no bite. Just a spoiled rich girl who hid behind her family name and bullied people she thought were weaker than her.
After leaving the café, I slowly let out a breath.
Then i threw myself back into graduation work completely. Kade called several times, but I declined every single one.
I couldn’t explain it, but I just didn’t feel like talking to him.
Unable to reach Nira, Kade found himself “accidentally” driving past her apartment again.
The next morning, she never came downstairs. Only after having someone look into it did he discover she’d moved into the campus dorms.
At the same time, Zane learned from Tessa that Nira had returned. The moment he heard the news, he immediately flew back from a remote Pack in the northwest.
And the first place he went after landing was Kade’s office.
The door swung open. “Mr. Howell!” Zane walked in, grinning. “I heard Nira’s back. Why didn’t you tell me sooner?”
Kade looked up from his paperwork. Seeing the dust–covered state Zane was in, he frowned. “Why would I tell you?” He tossed the file onto the desk. “And weren’t you supposed to be inspecting the Northwind Pack? What are you doing here?”

Zane dropped onto the couch, completely shameless. “What am I doing here?” He laughed. “Celebrating, obviously. Nira’s back. And it’s been forever since we’ve all gotten together. That’s a perfect excuse for a reunion.”
A complicated emotion flickered through Kade. He then immediately found an excuse. “Nira’s busy lately. She probably doesn’t have time.”
“Busy?” Zane snorted. “She’s graduating soon. How busy can she be?” Then his eyes lit up. “Oh, right. The new winery opens the day after tomorrow.” He pointed at Kade. “Perfect timing, we’ll all get together there.”
Truthfully, Kade wanted to see Nira desperately. But he was afraid she’d refuse, which was why he hadn’t brought it up.
Unlike Kade, Zane never hesitated. He immediately called Tessa. “Tessa.” His voice turned deliberately mysterious. “I brought back that gift you’ve been whining about from the Northwind Pack. I’ll give it to you then.”
The reaction was instant. “Really?!” Tessa practically screamed through the phone. “I’m coming!”

“Great” Zane grinned. “Bring Nira too. Mr. Howell and I will pick you both up.” After sealing the deal, he hung up.
Then turned toward Kade with a smug expression. “See? Problem solved. Once Tessa asks her, Nira won’t say no.”
Kade lowered his eyes and said nothing.

Unfortunately, Zane was right. Tessa practically dragged Nira out of her laboratory and brought her straight to Kade’s winery.
The moment Kade saw her arrive, happiness surged through him. A genuine smile almost escaped.
Then he saw Damian standing beside her, and his expression darkened immediately.
Of course the bastard comes running the second he hears Nira’s back.
Nira’s POV:
Seeing Kade and Damian together brought back a flood of complicated emotions, and apparently, Lyra felt the same.
One second, she reacted strongly to Kade. The next, she was excited to see Damian. She kept bouncing back and forth between the two. Until she finally lost her mind and started howling inside my head.
Honestly, I was exhausted too. Seriously, when was Lyra going to make up her mind? And when was she finally going to figure out who my true mate actually was?
Before I could think any further, Damian strode toward me. Excitement practically radiated from him. “Nira, you’re finally back.”
I smiled politely. “Mr. Flores, it’s been a long time.”
Concern immediately filled his expression. “Where have you been these past three years?” His voice was urgent. “I looked everywhere for you. There wasn’t a single trace.”
I kept my tone calm and distant. “I had some things I needed to deal with, so I left for a while.”
Just then, a gust of wind blew through the vineyard. I coughed softly.
Damian immediately frowned. “Why do you seem so weak?”
“It’s nothing.” I waved it off. “I’ll be fine after some rest.”
Not far away, Kade was watching us silently. His gaze was filled with hurt, jealousy, and a burning intensity.
Without thinking, I looked away. It was as if I’d somehow betrayed him, which made absolutely no sense. We weren’t mates, and we never had been.
A moment later, Kade walked over and took his place beside me, shielding me from the wind. “It’s cold here. Let’s go inside if you
want to talk.”
“Okay.” I nodded and turned toward Damian. “Mr. Flores, you should join us.”
Immediately, Damian shot Kade a victorious look, then happily followed me.
I sighed internally. Maybe inviting him wasn’t such a great idea after all.

Nearby, Tessa was busy harassing Zane for her gift. The second she spotted me, she waved excitedly. “Nira! Over here!”
I smiled and headed toward her
Kade and Damian followed close behind, one on each side.

I didn’t even need to look back. The tension between them was so obvious it practically crackled in the air. It was like two Alpha wolves seconds away from tearing each other’s throats out.
Then the sharp click of high heels echoed from the entrance.
Everyone turned. A woman stepped inside, elegant and impeccably dressed, her makeup flawless. It was Olivia.
A practiced smile rested on her lips. But her eyes went straight to Kade.
