Locked inside the hotel suite. Qlivia Shifted into her wolf form, pacing and leaping frantically around the room to burn off her mounting rage. With all her communication devices confiscated, she could only estimate the time by watching the sun outside the window.
“It’s already this late. Did the story break or not?” she muttered, shifting back into her human form. She paced the floor anxiously. her eyes darting toward the locked door over and over agaiq.
Meanwhile, in a conference room on another floor of the hotel, a dozen reporters found themselves completely surrounded by high–ranking Howell Pack warriors.
A male journalist wearing gold–rimmed glasses slammed his hand on the table and stood up. “Kade might be the heir to the Alpha King, but he has no right to hold us here illegally! The moment we get out, I’m exposing this tyranny!”

Back Ir the suite, the door finally clicked open for Olivia. But instead of good news, she was greeted by two uniformed police
officers.
An officer coldly held up a warrant “Olivia, you are under arrest for soliciting the violation of personal privacy and the dissemination of false information.”
“No! That’s impossible!” Olivia shrieked, shaking her head violently as panic and terror overtook her. She tried to bolt for the door but the officers quickly pinned her down and snapped Handcuffs around her wrists.
As they marched her out of the room, Olivia screamed at the top of her lungs, “You can’t arrest me! Do you know who I am? My father is the Alpha of the Wildgust Pack!”
Her desperate cries were met only with cold, indifferent stares and the heavy echo of footsteps fading down the hallway.

Nira’s POV
It wasn’t until Kade sat by my hospital bed and explained everything that it finally clicked.
“I was too careless,” I sighed, leaning back against the headboard in sheer frustration. “I never imagined she would stoop so low as to use a child.”
“But that scent didn’t smell like a typical knockout drug. If it were, a top–tier Lycan like Damian wouldn’t have succumbed to it. Where on earth did Olivia get her hands on something that specific and powerful?”
“I’ve already sent my people to look into it,” Kade said softly, handing me a glass of water. “They’ve secured the scene. Once you’re any clues.” feeling up to it, I’ll take you back there to see if we can find
“Okay,” I nodded.
If anyone wondered why I didn’t ask Kade how he planned to handle Olivia, the truth was, I was terrified of the answer. The Vance and Howell families shared deep, generations–old ties, and they had grown up together.
The thought made me frown with irritation. I hated feeling this insecure.
“What’s wrong?” Kade asked, instantly leaning in closer. “Is your wound hurting again?”
He was right there in front of me. His deep eyes held nothing but raw, undisguised concern, and his warm breath brushed softly against my cheek.
My heart skipped a beat.
Are you going to protect Olivia? The question was right on the tip of my tongue.
“I…” I started, but the words caught in my throat as I looked at the shadow cast by his long eyelashes.
Kade caught my hesitation immediately. Blinking, he nudged me gently in an incredibly tender voice, “What is it? Tell me.”
