Chapter 345 Traiters Defeated
Nira’s POV:
The masked man who leaped from the lead SUV yanked down his face covering, revealing a scared
command.
Paters seron
“Ms. Soren,” he said with a twisted smirk, his yellowed teeth showing. “How about we work something out?”
I pushed the car door open, and the dry desert heat washed over me. Slowly, I scanned the armed men surrounding us. you have in mind?”
“Simple.” He rubbed his thumb and fingers together. “You don’t deliver the medicine to Pater. Once he’s gone…” he dropped his voice, “I become the new leader. And that share of the diamond mine you promised him? I’ll only take thirty percent.”
Beside me, Desmond let out a low, mocking laugh. “So it’s a coup.”
The second–in–command grinned, arrogance flashing in his eyes. “The title goes to whoever’s strong enough to claim it.
“That old man doesn’t have three months left anyway! Ms. Soren, you’re a smart woman…” He stared at me, his gaze greedy. “Partner with me, and I’ll make sure you’re taken care of for life.
“I’ve also heard you lost your wolf spirit years ago. Without a spirit to protect you, life in a pack must be tough, right? Make this deal with me, and I’ll personally assign two of my best enforcers to guard you.”
I gave a cold laugh and tilted my chin up slightly. “What if I refuse?”
His smile vanished. Cruelty hardened his expression. “Then don’t blame me if things get ugly.”
With a sharp lift of his hand, every gunman around us raised their weapons in unison.
The tension between us turned deadly in an instant.
Right at that moment, I raised my voice and called out, “You plan on hiding much longer?”
Immediately, dozens of armed figures rose from behind the rocky outcrops along both sides of the canyon.
Pater stepped out from the shadows, his expression dark, a shotgun leveled straight at his second–in–command. “So this is what you call ‘strong enough to claim it‘?”
The second–in–command’s face went pale. Trembling, he dropped to his knees. “Boss… I… It was Richard’s idea! He said… if you were gone…”
“Thud.”
Pater drove a boot into his chest, sending him sprawling into the dust. The man lay there, groaning in pain. Pater stalked over and planted a foot on his head. “After everything I’ve done for you… you want me dead?” Spitting blood and sand, the second ignored the pain and begged wildly, “Boss, I’ll never cross you again, never-
A vicious look settled on Pater’s face. “Don’t worry. There won’t be a next time.” He gestured sharply. “Take these traitors away.”

His Toyalists moved in, chagging off the second in command and his crew without another word.
Then Pater’s gaze shifted toward the SUV where Richard was trying to stay out of sight
His men were quick–they rushed the vehicle, hauled Richard out, and threw him down at Pater’s feet.

“Boss, don’t listen to him! He’s lying, he’s trying to frame me Richard babbled, trembling from head to foot.
Pater didn’t let him finish.
A gunshot cracked through the air.
Richard screamed, crumpling to the ground, clutching his bleeding leg.

Pater blew a faint smoke trail from the barrel. “Natalie, consider that a little gift. Should keep this weasel from slipping away mid- journey.”
Natalie arched a brow. “Appreciate it.”
Pater gave me a firm nod. “Ms. Soren, thanks for the warning. Never would’ve known there was a snake that close to me.”
I inclined my head slightly. “We’re partners. We watch each other’s backs.”
“Hah. Well said.” Pater chuckled, though it didn’t reach his eyes. “I won’t hold you up any longer. And I trust you’ll remember our agreement.”
“I will,” I replied evenly.
Once the Blood Wolf crew had pulled out, I let out a long, slow breath and turned to Kade. “Good thing you were the first to notice something off about Pater’s number two.”
