Chapter 369 A Forgotten Magic
Third Person POV:
Oma sensed the shift immediately. She was about to yank Killian away, but his expression had already iced over again
“Thanks for the reminder,” he said, his voice void of emotion.
Natalie withdrew her hand and looked him in the eye. “Mr. Hawke, may I have this dance?”

“I don’t suppose Ms. Morris would mind?” Natalie’s red lips curved into a faint, challenging smile as she locked eyes with the other woman. “After all, he and I haven’t officially severed our mate bond. It isn’t too much to ask my mate for ofre dance, is it?”
She pitched her voice perfectly, ensuring everyone within earshot could catch ev
every word.
A fresh wave of whispers rippled through the crowd.
Dina’s face darkened, her nails digging deep into Killian’s arm. “Mr. Hawke, what do you say?”
Killian’s gaze faltered. Before he could answer, the band struck up a familiar melody-it was the song from their first dance at their bonding ceremony twenty years ago.
“Looks like fate has made the call.” Natalie didn’t give him a chance to refuse. She took his hand and guided him firmly but smoothly to the center of the dance floor.
Killian’s body went rigid. He couldn’t very well reject her in front of all these people.
When his hand settled on Natalie’s waist, a familiar warmth seeped through the delicate fabric of her gown. His fingers trembled almost imperceptibly.
“Do you remember this dance?” Natalie led him through the steps, her voice soft enough for only him to hear. “You were so nervous back then that you stepped on my foot three times.”
Killian’s brow furrowed. Suddenly, fragmented images flashed through his mind-a charming smile, trembling fingers, and his own clumsy footwork.
sice. sice. “That’s all in the past.” “So what if I remember?” Killian’s face remained a blank mask, his tone as cold
Natalie stared at the face she knew so well, and his words cut into her heart like a knife.
Even so, she kept smiling and held his gaze with stubborn resolve. “We are bonded mates. If your heart had truly betrayed me, my wolf spirit would have sensed it. But the fact remains, my spirit hasn’t given me any sign of distress because of your betrayal.
“Killian, are you really going to break our bond for Dina?”
Killian hesitated for a fraction of a second, but his expression stayed cold. “Natalie, I love Dina now. You need to know when to walk away.”
Natalie’s lashes fluttered. Killian had said those exact same words over twenty years ago-but back then, he had been saying them to Lila, the woman who wouldn’t stop chasing him.
“Killian…” She tried one last time, desperate to reignite some trace of their shared memories.

But first then, the music ended. Killian shoved Natalie away without a shred of mercy. “Enough. This is over
Natalie stumbled back two steps. It was the first time he had ever been so harsh with her.

As the final notes faded, Dina rushed to Killian’s side Seeing his cold demeanor, she breathed a sigh of relief, then shot Natalie a triumphant look. “Natalie, stop fighting a losing battle. Killian loves me now. Clinging to him won’t do you any good”
Natalie gave Killian one last, lingering look, then turned and walked out of the banquet hall.
The room fell silent for a beat before erupting into even louder gossip.
No one noticed that Killian’s gaze followed Natalie until she disappeared completely into the crowd.
Dina gritted her teeth in jealousy. “Killian, what are you looking at?”
Killian looked away, his face blank, but the fingers at his side were trembling almost imperceptibly. “Nothing.”
By the time the gala ended, the news of Killian and Natalie’s public fallout had spread like wildfire.

Nira’s POV:
After hearing what went down at the gala, I couldn’t stop worrying about Natalie. I immediately had Kade drive me over to Hudson
Manor.
“Killian is a bastard!” I could hear Desmond yelling from the front door.
“Desmond, watch your mouth!” Edmund’s wolf eyes flashed as he cut his son off sharply. “Stay out of grown-up business.”
Desmond’s face turned red with anger, but he was too wary of his father to keep cursing Killian. Still, he couldn’t help muttering under his breath, “I’m not a kid anymore…”
Kade and I exchanged a glance and walked in without a word.
As soon as I entered, I saw Natalie sitting at one end of the sofa, silent and looking utterly forlorn. My heart ached for her.
“Ms. Soren, Mr. Howell, please, come in and have a seat!” Edmund greeted us warmly, though the tension in the room was palpable.
Gordon gave us a curt nod, then turned to his daughter. “Natalie, what is your plan?”
Natalie lifted her head slowly to look at me. “At first, I thought Killian was being controlled, that something was forcing him to say those things.
“But tonight, I tested him. He remembers everything. He’s just fallen out of love.” Natalie picked up the glass of water in front of he and took a sip. Her hand shook slightly as she held it.
She looked up again, her expression already calm once more. “Since he’s made himself so clear, there’s nothing left for me to hold
onto.”
Gordon slammed his hand down on the coffee table, rattling the cups and splashing water onto the surface. “Sever the mate bond with him right now! But does Killian think he can just walk away that easily? Not a chance!”

“Calm down? How can you expect me to calm down!” Gordon’s beard trembled with rage. “Back then, Killian might have had a high wolf spirit rank, but he was nothing but a stray rogue without a pack. If the Hudson family hadn’t taken him in and raised him, would he be where he is today? Now that he’s found his footing, he dares to treat my daughter like this?”
Desmond jumped in immediately. “Exactly! Grandpa’s right! Uncle-no, Killian-every bit of his business was built on the Hudson family’s support. Does he think he can just walk away?”
Natalie set her glass down, her voice terrifyingly steady. “Dad, I’ve already instructed the legal department to start calculating the asset division. Whatever belongs to us, we won’t leave a single penny on the table.”
I noticed that Natalie’s knuckles were white from gripping the glass. Her heart clearly wasn’t as calm as she appeared on the surface.
“Natalie…” Gordon’s tone softened instantly, his eyes filled with pain. “I don’t care about the money. I care about you…”
Natalie forced a faint smile. “I’m fine. I’ve endured this for years. A hit like this is nothing compared to that.”
The Hudson household was in complete turmoil. After offering what comfort we could, Kade and I didn’t stay long.
On the drive back to the hospital, I kept replaying the entire situation in my mind. Kade sat quietly beside me, thoughtful and silent.
After a long time, a key detail suddenly flashed through my mind. I instinctively grabbed Kade’s hand and exclaimed, “I remember now!”
