Chapter 94 Turning the Tables

While everything was spiraling on campus, Kade had been in the middle of a closed–door meeting with his father and several alpha leaders from the core packs.
The kind of meeting no one walked out of halfway through.
Until his phone rang.
He glanced at the screen, saw Tessa’s name, and answered anyway.
The moment he heard it was about Nira, he didn’t hesitate. He stood up immediately, ignoring the sharp look his father sent his way as he walked straight out of the room.
“What happened?” he asked, his voice low and direct.
Tessa didn’t hold anything back. She rushed through the entire situation, barely pausing for breath as she explained what had blown up online and what was happening on campus.
“That’s everything. I can’t reach her, no one knows where she is,” she said, her voice starting to shake. “Kade, you need to get here now. If this keeps going, they’re going to tear her apart. She doesn’t even have a wolf spirit, she won’t stand a chance!”
“I understand,” he said.
His tone was steady, controlled, giving nothing away.
Then the call ended, and he immediately turned to his people, already issuing orders.
Back on campus, everything had reached a boiling point. “Nira’s live!”
Someone shouted it out of nowhere, and the reaction was instant.
“Where?”
“Send the link!”
Phones came out all at once, people refreshing their screens like their lives depended on it as they scrambled to find the stream.
Nira’s POV:
The second this whole thing blew up, I already knew exactly who to thank for it.
Valerie.
Guess she got bored with how quiet things had been lately and decided to stir something up.
sat at the front of the auditorium, facing the camera, completely composed. A faint smile tugged at my lips, but there was nothing warm about it.
If she thought something like this was enough to take me down, she really didn’t know me at all.

I’d been working alongside my adoptive father since I was nine, handling real operations inside Silvermoon Pack. I’d dealt with people who held power, people who played dirty, people who would crush someone without hesitation.
And she thought this, this kind of petty setup, would shake me?
Not a chance.
My fingers curled slightly, a quiet rush of anticipation building.
Good.
I’d been waiting for something like this.
This time, I was going to make it very clear what happens when you come after me.
This was my first time going live publicly, face fully visible. For most people watching, it was their first time seeing what I actually looked like.
The reaction was immediate.
[Wait, she’s actually gorgeous???]
The chat exploded, messages flooding the screen so fast they blurred together. Compliments, shock, disbelief, all stacked on top of each other.
Some people seemed to forget why they had even joined the stream in the first place.
I’d always known what I looked like. That wasn’t the point today.
I adjusted slightly in my seat and spoke clearly, my voice steady.
“I’m Nira. I’m aware of the rumors going around, online and on campus. People saying I cheated. Saying I don’t deserve first place.”
I let that sit for a second.
“That’s why I started this livestream. I’m giving you all a chance, a fair one, to prove it.”
The chat surged again.
[She’s bold, I’ll give her that.]
[Or just full of herself. No way she’s actually legit.]
[She doesn’t even look like someone who’d cheat…]
I let out a quiet laugh under my breath, then lifted my chin slightly, meeting the camera head–on.
“Today, I’m challenging the entire Computer Science department.”
That landed exactly how I expected.
“If I lose, I’ll withdraw from Howard Academy immediately. No arguments.” I paused just long enough. “But if you lose…”
My gaze sharpened. “You shut up. Permanently.”

The livestream detonated.
Messages flooded in so fast the screen turned into a wall of motion.
[She’s insane. A freshman challenging the whole department?]
(This is gonna be fun.]
[CS majors, get in here. Someone shut her down already. Kick her out of the school!]
Across campus, the same people who had been looking for me earlier, ready to “teach me a lesson,” all poured into the stream instead.
Meanwhile, the auditorium was already packed.
Every seat taken. People standing along the walls. All of them waiting to see me fail.
A ripple went through the crowd. Someone stepped forward, pushing through the noise.
He was tall, broad–shouldered, unmistakably Lycan. Voices immediately started up around him.
“Isn’t that Orson from sophomore year? No way, he actually showed up. He won first place in that coding competition last semester, right? Professors love him.”
“Yeah, he’s fast, clean, and brutal with algorithms. She’s done.”
Orson didn’t acknowledge any of it. He walked straight to the computer station across from me and sat down, like this was already
decided.
I glanced at the live chat, scanned a few comments, then looked back at him.
“Algorithms,” I said. “That’s your strength, right? Let’s go with that.”
He looked at me like I’d just made a joke.
“You serious?” he said, leaning back slightly, eyes full of open disdain. “You’re challenging me in algorithms?”
A slow, mocking smile pulled at his lips.
“Don’t start crying when this goes sideways,” he added. “Might wanna call your mom ahead of time.”
Laughter broke out across the auditorium, loud and unfiltered.
Every eye turned back to me, filled with amusement, doubt, and outright ridicule.
