“Mommy, please, come with me and Dad. We’ll spend the day together.” Lucas pouted.
I was helping him to dress up for his day out with Logan and Raelynn. Well, I was doing it against my wish but Lucas didn’t let anyone touch his stuff.
“Mommy has some important errand to run. I wish I could come with you and your Dad but you’ll have fun with him.” I cheered him with a pretended smile.
“But I’ll miss you. It’s not fun without you.” Lucas pouted.
“Luke, are you ready?” Logan knocked at the door and it put an end to the difficult conversation because I hated when I had to refuse Lucas.
“Dad, can Mommy come with us? I don’t want to go without her.” Lucas turned to his father.
My eyes widened, I didn’t expect my son to play smart. Logan looked hesitate.
“Luke, can we just have father–son time today? You can go out with your Mom on next holiday. I’ll take you to your favourite food court.” Logan said picking Lucas in his arms.
I felt like an outsider.
“Really? We’ll buy Mommy her favourite pizza.” Lucas was easily convinced by his father.
“Sure, you can buy anything for your Mom but now, we need to hurry up.” Logan adjusted his cap and they exited the room.
I followed behind them. I could notice that Logan was ignoring me as much as possible. Honestly, I didn’t care if he’s stop talking to me but it was embarrassing in its own way.
“Take care, Mommy. I love you.” Lucas waved at me as the car moved away.
“Mommy loves you the most, Luke. Go and enjoy your day.” I waved back at him before the window was closed and the car moved out of the premise.
Sighing, I went back to collect my laptop and the folder I rearranged last night to show them to Adrian. We were meeting at his office because I didn’t find a safer place.
Getting caught by someone means facing the wrath of the Wilferd family.
“Kelly, I won’t come back before three so don’t prepare lunch for me.” I informed the maid.
“Okay, Ma’am. Have a nice day” She wished me and I walked out of the main gate and looked around.
I didn’t take my car because it was given by Logan and it could easily be recognized because it was a luxury car. Though, it didn’t matter to me but I had to maintain the reputation of Wilferds. Besides, it had a GPS tracker.

I couldn’t risk my smooth separation with Logan.
I wanted to leave with dignity.
After walking for fifteen minutes because no cab could enter in the area.
I hailed a cab and reached at Adrian’s office without being tracked by Logan’s security team. I was led to his cabin since the reception had prior information of my visit.
“Impressive! Your designs are unique with their meaningful themes. I love how you tried traditional designs across the world as your inspiration to create something new. Let me sign your appointment letter before you change your mind.” Adrian praised me.
“Easy, Mr. Mcnight. I have made up my mind and I won’t change my decision now but I need time. I want to dedicate the last few days with Lucas. The memories with him will be my inspiration to move forward.” I said with a hint of sadness.
“Tess, don’t be sad. If Lucas loves you, they won’t be able to erase you from his life. One day, you’ll be united with him. It’s just a hard phase, it’ll pass soon.” Adrian tried to lift up my mood.
I wiped my tears and shook my head.
“I feel the same. The bond between me and Lucas is pure and Raelynn’s dirty tricks can never ruin it even if she tries million times.” I said with pride.
“That’s like my best friend. Now, let’s discuss your role and how I want my clothing line to work here and also in France. You can choose where you want to start. I am giving you this freedom.” He said to change the subject.
For the next two hours we discussed different aspects, his plans, the startup, the number of employees, the office building etc.
“I can’t doubt your ability as a smart and successful businessman but I doubt myself. It has been four years since I quit my last job, I was just an assistant designer who used to help the designers to create their own masterpiece. Leading a company isn’t in my capability radius.” I said.
“Tessa, you just called me a smart businessman. I know whom I am choosing and you deserve what I am offering you. Please, don’t doubt yourself and prepare for the role when you’re free. The time isn’t far when you’ll shine.” He smiled brightly.
“Adrian, this is a huge responsibility.” I shook my head.
“Sign it when you’re mentally ready. My assistant will pick it up from your place or you can come over to the Korean restaurant.” He grinned.
“You find excuses to meet me. You’ll push me in a deep trouble if my husband or his family or Raelynn Cowper find out that I am hanging out with my best friend.” I looked down on the sealed document.
It was the founding stone of my new life.
