“How far is the venue? We have been driving for more than forty minutes.” I asked my bodyguard.
I was sitting on the backseat, dressed in a wine red dress that he personally chose for me matched with pearl necklace and a bracelet given by him on our first anniversary.
I was having jitters in the pit of my stomach. Logan had left the house around four in the evening.
“Another fifteen minutes, Ma’am.” He answered and I sat back only speculating the surprise date he could plan.
Undoubtedly, he was a romantic man who had done things for Raelynn. Their dates and trips were always on the news. He expressed his love in a visible way.
So, I could only wonder what he must have planned for me because it’d be our first proper date.
My thoughts came to a halt when the driver pulled the brakes. I looked outside. I couldn’t see anything.
My bodyguard opened the car door for me. I could only see clusters of trees on both sides of the narrow path but the place was quiet and peaceful.
“What kind of date he has planned?” I wondered but followed him.
But what came to my view after two minutes‘ walk, it made me gasp.
There was a cottage style house surrounded by trees and a beautiful lake which was illuminated with lights. My eyes scanned the
area, it looked out of a scenery.

, it’s someone’s private property and the owner is really a very beautiful lady.” He said.
I didn’t like his answer because by his answer, I could tell that the owner was a woman and he called her beautiful. Something he never did before.
“She must be beautiful that’s why she owns this dream place.” I said trying my best to hide my jealously.
He walked towards me, his steps slow.
“Let me give you a tour of this place first. I want this evening to be memorable.” He said and laced our hands.
Although, I was upset by his previous remark, I didn’t want to ruin my evening by childish jealousy because he wasn’t a man of weak character.
He circled his hand around my waist.
“You look very beautiful tonight. I don’t think I can hold myself back for long. This is my favourite colour on you.” He said.
His compliment made me blush.
“You look good too.” I said shyly.
He led me inside the house. The interior was more fancy than exterior. There was everything that could be a perfect blend of

modernity with vintage touch.
“There are three bedrooms upstairs but I think first we can go and check the lake side and the garden.” He said and led me out of the house through the back door.
I wondered why he was giving me a tour of someone else‘ house with this level of excitement.
“Logan, this is freaking dreamy.” I gasped when I looked in front of me.
The small lake was illuminated with lights. The luscious green garden had many plants. There was a canopy set with a table and two chairs. A perfect romantic setup in a courtyard garden with a natural lake.
“Do you like my surprise date for you?” He asked.
I turned to face him. My eyes welled up as I felt thick with emotions. Nobody had done this for me to make me feel special.
“Thank you. I would be equally happy if you had made instant noodles in our kitchen and eat it with me in our garden because spending time with you is what I treasure the most but this is a dream. I can’t forget this night till my last breath.”
I expressed my mixed feelings. I was beyond happy.
He used his thumbs to wipe my tears very gently.
“Don’t cry. I can do much more than this for you, Tessa. It is nothing in comparison of what you have done to make my life even more beautiful. It took me four years to realize it.” He said.
The distance between us was closed.

“I am your love at first sight?” He asked in an amused tone.
“Yes, but at that time you were courting my sister so I had to bury my feelings but I couldn’t help it. Whenever I looked at you and her, I felt jealous of her fate. She had an amazing man like you by her side.” I revealed the secret that I had kept to myself all these years.
He broke the hug and looked down at me.
“Tessa, well, this is also surprising for me. I wish I had met you before meeting Raelynn in the church when she was helping the old woman. She looked from high class but she helped the poor. I guessed it was a mere attraction. I realized it now.” He said.
I was confused because I didn’t remember my cousin helping poor. She despised them and never threw a sympathetic glance at
them.
“Was it the day after Christmas?” I asked.
“Yes, I went there with my parents. Usually, I don’t do charity openly but my Dad insisted that I should join them. At the church, I saw her helping them.” He answered.
I recalled the events of the same day and I realized that it wasn’t her.
It was me whom Logan had seen.
“Did you see her face?” I asked.
He shook his head.
“No, but I remembered her by her coat. She wore it afterwards when I met your family and immediately recognized her.”
I chuckled because I realized why my cousin begged me to lend her my coat. She said she was feeling cold and my aunt also lectured me to keep her beloved daughter warm.
“Why do you ask?”
He looked curious.
“Would you believe me if I say that the girl you saw and fell in love with her kindness wasn’t Raelynn but it was me?”
