“I might be late today. I am going for the site inspection at our under construction plant. Please, take care of yourself and the kids.” Logan said.

I had Lena in my arms as he settled inside his car and caressed his daughter’s head. She was whining to jump on his father’s lap.

“Lena, let your Dad go. He has work.” I rocked her but she wasn’t ready to listen to me.

“Dad loves you, princess. Be a good baby and don’t trouble your Mommy. Dad will be back soon.” Logan said to his daughter.

She was only two months old but she calmed down immediately as if she understood her father’s words.

“I’ll see you later.” He said to me and the car drove out of the gates.

“Lena, let’s go inside and then we’ll get ready to go to Mommy’s office.” I took Lena inside. I didn’t know but I had an uneasiness stirring inside me.

I couldn’t name the feeling but I hoped everything would be fine.

Lucas had already gone to his school. I first got dressed for work and then packed Lena’s stuffs. Workload was increasing as our sales went high. We had to work on new designs and production so I had to stay at office for long hours.

I couldn’t leave Lena at home for long so Adrian arranged a nursery for her at my office. Her nanny would be with her all the time. In that way, I didn’t need to be worried about her.

“Good morning, Tess. Good morning, little miss.” Adrian, who was present at my office early in the morning, approached us.

He patted Lena’s chubby cheeks.

“You are very early here?” I asked him.

Lena’s nanny took her to the nursery.

“Yes, I came here to pay a visit to my friend and also inspect the production progress of our new stocks for summer.” He answered.

I nodded my head.

“Let me give you a tour then. Come with me.” I said and led the way for him to our workshop, “I and my team are primarily focusing on use of cotton and how we can create new and comfortable designs with them.” I told him.

“It’s impressive. I am planning to hand you over this company in upcoming years.” He said.

“What is it?”

“I received an invitation from a private fashion show event in Milan. They also saw your collection last month so they requested if I can take you along with me. You should come, Tessa. This is a huge opportunity to learn.”

I thought about his proposal. He was right.

“When is it? I have to check if I’d be available because I have to travel with Lena.” I said.

“It’s in the next week. You have plenty of time but tell me beforehand because I have to take care of the tickets and hotel booking. I don’t like to stay in those rooms booked by event organizers.

After inspecting the progress, he left and I resumed my work. During the lunch time, I took Lena out since she was fussing for fresh air. I properly covered her so no one notice her.

The small park near the office was a perfect place to catch some fresh air.

Meanwhile my phone rang. It displayed Logan’s number.

“Please, stay with Lena and don’t leave her sight. I have to attend this call.” I said and walked a little far to receive my husband’s call.

I didn’t like talking to him whenever someone was around.

“Hello, have you reached there?” I asked him.

“Yeah, just landed and heading to the site. How is Lena?” He asked about his daughter.

“She is playing.” I told him.

“I’ll take the earliest flight to come home as soon as I wrap up my work here. I miss you all.” He said.

“Focus on your work, Logan. We’re fine he-”

“Ma’am!!!”

Rest of my words died in my mouth when I heard the nanny screaming and I swiftly turned around.

My eyes widened in horror when I saw a masked man running out of the park with Lena.

“Lena!!”

I screamed. My phone dropped somewhere. I chased the man to protect my baby. Meanwhile, my bodyguards also reached there whom I asked to relax because the park was in a very safe area.
