“Where’s my wife?” I asked while running inside the hospital.
“She’s under the effects of sedatives and sleeping and it’s good that she isn’t in her senses because she’s out of control.” Her bodyguard told me.
I peeked through the glass window and saw her sleeping. My heart clenched. When I heard her screams, my worst fear came into life.
Only I knew how I spent four hours while rushing back home. Someone kidnapped my daughter. The only thought was enough to freeze my blood. I couldn’t afford to lose her.
But why did Tessa leave the security behind? She knew that our family was targeted before?
“I am going to the police station. Please, take care of her. I will find my daughter as soon as possible.” I instructed her and ran out of the hospital.
There were countless missed calls from my parents but I didn’t have the time to waste. My daughter’s life was in danger. I had to save her first and punish her kidnappers who tried to harm a small soul.
I’d hunt them down even in the hell.
“To the police station.” I instructed my driver.
“Yes, Sir.” He quickly navigated the car towards the police station.
Every single second felt like an hour to me.
My heart wasn’t at ease. My daughter’s face danced in front of my eyes.
“I’ll save you, my princess.” I whispered looking at her picture on my phone’s screen. My phone rang and I picked it on the first ring.
“Hello, Logan Wilferd speaking.” I used a cold tone.
“Sir, I am the deputy of the police station. We have found your daughter and the kidnapper.” I heard a man’s voice from other side.
Those words, the one single sentence was the most relieving news for me.
“I am coming.” I ended the call, “Drive fast.” I instructed the driver.
My fists were clenched. I would definitely kill the man who tried to hurt my child. They unleashed something terrible inside me by dragging my two months old daughter in a dirty game.
When I reached at the police station, I strode directly inside and scanned the room for my baby. A female officer was rocking her. I took long strands towards her.

“Ma’am, she’s my daughter.” I said to her and she handed Lena to me.
Her face had turned red due to continuous crying. I hugged her close to my chest and kissed her
forehead.
“Shhh…baby I am here. You are safe, my sweet child.” I tried to comfort her and after a while, she calmed
down.
My heart pained to see my daughter in pain. She had been with evil people for hours.
“Mr. Wilferd, we arrested her kidnapper when he was trying to escape by a train. He was foolish to use a public transport. Don’t worry, we already called a doctor to ensure if she wasn’t hurt and she’s fine.” The deputy walked up to me.
My anger reached to an exploding point. My fists curled. If I hadn’t held Lena, I’d find the man and strangled him with my bare hands.
“Where is he? I want to see him.” I demanded coldly.
“Mr. Wilferd, I understand your emotions but we have already interrogated him. He said he was about to call you for ransom. I checked his background and he’s in illegal business. Don’t worry, we have filed charges against him and he’ll serve fair punishment according to the law.”
The deputy tried to ease the situation.
“Deputy inspector, I want to see him right now.” I used a flat tone.
“Sir, please, don’t come in between the law. I assured you that he’ll be sent to jail and there will be a proper trial to send him to prison. Please, try to understa-” He couldn’t finish his sentence because there
was a loud commotion.
“Chief, the man who kidnapped the baby has shot himself with the gun he snatched from us.” A policeman came running.
There was only chaos and everyone rushed towards the interrogation cell.
I felt more angrier because I lost the only chance to ask him why he stole my baby.
What wrong did I do?
Was it just for money or he had other motives?
I only opened that he was alive because he had to answer my questions.
“Sir, please, take the baby home. The convict is already dead. He shot himself in the head.” The female officer told me and my last hope died.
“Then find out about his family. Someone must answer.” I said and with Lena, I left the station to the hospital where my wife must be waiting for me to bring our daughter home safely.
