Goodbye, Mr. Ex-Husband, I Won't Come Back novel Chapter 134

Four years later…

Tessa

“What do you mean the final fitting isn’t done yet? We have a show in less than forty-eight hours and you’re telling me that there are five dresses which are yet to be fitted. Come on, this is our first show of the year and you want us to be a failure.”

I lost my temper on my juniors and they stood with lowered heads.

“Sorry, Ma’am. It’ll be done by four in the evening.” One of them dared to answer.

“Go and get it done and come back only when you have the full checklist.” I dismissed them.

My headache worsened. Putting off my reading glasses, I rubbed my temples.

It wasn’t a big deal though. The fitting could be done within a couple of hours but I never left anything for later.

Owning one of the emerging clothing brand wasn’t a piece of cake either. I had given it most of my time. Spent sleepless nights on planning minor details, travelling across the world for new ideas and to target new potential markets.

I devoted myself to my children and to the company that I started from scratch. I slowly on the right track. More confident with bigger dreams.

With time, the old memories were shifting to a corner. I spent many nights crying and missing the man I loved. The thought of booking the earliest flight and fly back into his arms crossed many times but I reminded myself that I had compromised with my pride many times.

Logan might respect me or perhaps loved me but he never valued me.

Four years without him taught me a lot. I was more confident, I was fearless and I didn’t have to live in the constant insecurity of losing my man because I had already left him to find his own way.

My only priority were my two beautiful kids. Initially I regretted taking Lucas along with me but with passing time, I had realized that if I had left him, his childhood might be traumatized.

Wilferd family but be hating my guts except Kevin who gave me his permission to choose my own path.

Vibration of my phone pulled me out of my thoughts and I looked at the phone screen. It was from Adrian. I opened it and sighed. He was telling me about his divorce confirmation. Sighing, I dialled his number and he picked it on first ring.

“Adrian, I don’t know what to say. Whether I should congratulate you for the end of a scandalous marriage or consol you because it was actually a nightmare for you.” I said.

“Tessa, I am having a feeling of freedom. I don’t know why did I even marry her on first place and wasted two years of my life pleasing a woman who only wanted my money. Can you believe, she asked 1.5 billion as alimony?”

It surprised me because it was actually a huge amount when she was the one caught cheating on him.

“And what did you do? Do you agree to this bullshit?” I asked.

“No, my lawyers handled it and we agreed on forty million, though the woman doesn’t deserve a single penny from me.” He said with disdain.

“Hey, I know it’s still depressing but the good thing is you’re free from a loveless marriage. You can find someone who actually loves and cares for you.” I said to comfort him.

“No, I think I am happier when I am single. I want to focus on myself now and next week I am coming to meet you.” He said.

Lucas had shifted from calling me ‘Mom’ from ‘Mommy’ as he was a growing boy whereas his sister chose to call me Mamma.

“Hey, babies. How was your day?” I ruffled their hairs.

“I got highest marks in my math test.” Lucas told me proudly.

“Oh, that’s great! I am proud of you, Luke and here’s your reward.” I handed him the paper bag that contained their cookies.

“Oh, thanks, Mom.” His eyes lit up.

“Mamma, I draw a lion today.” Lena also told me about her activity at her play school.

“Really? Aww, my baby is getting smarter.’ I kissed her forehead.

Seeing their happy faces after a long day made me forget all my tension and tiredness.

“Ma’am, please, go and fresh up. I’ll prepare coffee for you. These two won’t stop talking.” Kelly walked inside.

It seemed she was working in the garden.

“Thanks, Kelly.” I smiled and told my kids that I’d join them after changing my clothes.
