PART-147
Logan
The man who approached Tessa was the same man from the bakery. My heart twisted in a strange way. It meant the girl could be
My heartbeats accelerated.
“Eliot, please, wait for me. I am coming in two minutes.” Tessa forced a smile at the man but when he looked at me, a frown
itched between his brows.
“Wait, you’re the same gentleman who offered Lena your cake?” He pointed his finger at me and Tessa’s face turned pale.
On the other hand, I was unable to react. The girl was my daughter. Adrenaline rushed through my veins. I coincidentally met my child. My heart was pulled towards her.
“Tessa, do you want me to stay here until you’re done with your business?” The man asked Tessa who looked like a terrified cat.
“Umm..no…I..am done. Let’s go.” Tessa seemed to recover from the shock and hurried to leave but I was quick enough to grab her hand again.
“Where are my kids, Theresa?” I asked her coldly because the woman had pissed me off to another level.
“Excuse me, Mister? What are you doing?” The man yelled at me. He looked ready to protect Tessa.
“Stay out of this. I am talking to my wife.” I warned him and realization dawned at him.
“Logan, please, let me go.” Tessa whispered.
“No, not this time because you have left me with no other choice. Running away like this is labelled as cowardice.” I said, my
voice firm.
Her eyes welled up, a part of me softened but I couldn’t show her that she could still play that face card on me.
“Let me go, please. I beg you. This is my work place. People know me for my business. Please, don’t ruin the respect that I have made for myself. Don’t make my biggest sacrifice go in waste.” She begged me in a low tone.
I loved her. I loved her the most but what she did, it sowed the seeds of doubt whether she truly loved me because she never fought for us.
She left me alone to suffer.
“Okay, I am allowing you to leave this place but it doesn’t mean that you’ll ditch me again. After the birthday celebration, I am coming over to your place to talk, to meet our children.” I said.
Although, I tried to keep my voice firm, it came out soft because the pain I harboured for years, it resurfaced. I couldn’t wait for another day to meet my kids, to reunite with my family but I also knew that there were many things between me and Tessa which were unresolved.
“Let’s go, Tessa. I will drop you off at home.” The man said, the way he was trying to force proximity between them, it was enough to boil my blood.
“I think I have changed my mind. I am coming with you.” I said and before she could react, I caught hold of her wrist and led us
out of the villa.
Tessa did her best to wiggle out of my hold but there was no way I’d allow that clingy clown trying his best to hit on my wife. “Hey, what are you doing? Leave her or I will call the police.” The man blocked our way.
He was getting into my nerves.
*Eliot, please, let me talk to him.” Tessa spoke before me.

“No, it’s not fine. He is trying to harass you and it’s very clear to me why you had to leave him.” Eliot, the man hit the last nerve
of my patience.
“You want to call the police, please, go ahead because I won’t be the one to go jail but your friend will be the one who fled with my kids. Do you still want to call the police?” I challenged him.
He was glaring me hard but Tessa’s face turned white with fear.
“Eliot, please, let me talk to him. It’s between us. Please, go home. I will be fine.” Tessa requested him in a low tone and begged him through her eyes to go.
“Please, don’t let him bully you and call me if you need help.” He glared me and I reciprocated his gesture with same hardness. I could see that he wanted to be more than just friends or I was missing something.
Once he left, I pinned her to the thick tree where no one could see us. She stiffened under my touch and avoided looking at me. She had grown into a more beautiful woman, her maturing features, longer hairs and lean body made her even prettier.
Undoubtedly her beauty could lure all the single men around her and the only thought filled my heart with jealousy.
“Why did you leave me, Theresa Wilferd?”
