“I missed you so much in last two days. You were too busy to take my call.”
Raelynn leaned on my shoulder and nuzzled ‘ years, even the slightest intimacy felt strange.

“I was caught up with work so I couldn’t contact you.” I replied quietly.
“Hey, you look serious. What’s the matter? Did I do something to upset you?” She cupped my face and
insisted me to speak.
“Lucas hit his classmate who happened to be your friend’s son.”
Her smile dropped upon hearing my words.
“What are you saying, Logan? Our son hit someone. It’s unbelievable! How could he learn such bad behaviour? We should change his school.” Raelynn shook her head.
I stared at her in disbelief. She was Logan’s biological mother yet there wasn’t any genuine concern on her face. Perhaps, the feeling of motherhood was still new for her.
“Jason, his classmate heard his mother talking about our relationship and my divorce with Tessa and later bullied Lucas with this information which caused our son to lose his patience.” I told her.
Her face turned pale and she blinked her eyes at me.
“Jossie Tucker? Yes, I talked to her when we met in a shopping mall. She was one of my close friends so I trusted her. I can’t believe she gossiped about such sensitive subject with others. I am really sorry, Logan. Please, forgive me.” Her eyes welled up.
“If it was unintentional then you don’t need to apologize, Ray but you have to be more careful until everything is settled.” I advised her.
“I’ll be careful with my actions.” She nodded her head but I knew her.
She was an extrovert, sometimes she made mistakes when her happiness overlapped her maturity whereas Tessa was quiet, observant and act according to situation.
“I don’t want Lucas to face such kind of situation again. It was Tessa who handled the situation maturely otherwise your friend and her lawyer husband were ready to take legal charges against our family. I want you to have a serious word with your friend about this. Lucas is an innocent child and nothing is above his safety for me.” I made it clear to her.
“Tessa is the ideal mother figure for him. She knows his best interest and it makes me feel like a terrible person. I don’t know if I’d ever be able to compete with her.” She lowered her gaze and her lips trembled.
My heart melt seeing how it always made her feel inferior whenever Lucas chose Tessa over her.

“Ray, you don’t need to compare yourself with Tessa. You both have your own presence in Lucas‘ life. You weren’t there for him in last three years, it’s a long time and deprived you from the bliss of motherhood. Give yourself some time, you’ll have your own place in his heart soon.” I tried to cheer her.
A faint smile stretched on her lips.
“Still, Tessa’s presence will always be there ir seriously. I am sure she’ll be a great mother to her own children one day.” She said.
life. After all, my cousin played his mother’s role too
Although, she praised Tessa, I didn’t like when she mentioned Tessa’s future children. Tessa would find someone and would marry and eventually start her own family.
“She doesn’t love Lucas any less.” I commented.
“Let’s talk about us now, Logan. After five days, you’ll be mine forever. I am counting the days. Finally, my wait will be over, I can be with you and our son.” She rested her head on my chest, her fingers played with my shirt’s button.
Tessa’s words replayed in my mind.
As much as I tried to erase them from my memory, it again hit me like a harsh slap.
In my impatience to make up with Raelynn, I hurt Tessa’s feelings unintentionally. I asked her to move out of our room in the night. I could wait for the morning. How embarrassing it was for her. I didn’t ha
