“You’re talking absurd, Tessa. I am telling you, if you say something like this again, you’ll regret for the rest of your life.”
Raelynn lashed out at me, her sudden outburst felt more like panic that surged after I asked her the question that she tried her best to dodge.
However, I got my answers.
“I was only curious because someone like you who always lived a princess‘ life spent three years in adversity. I hold no ill intentions, dear cousin.” I said calmly and it seemed to trigger her even more.
She rose from the chair and flared her nose, her face was red with anger.
“You know what-” She pointed her finger at me, her eyes glaring at me murderously, “This is the last warning for you. If you ever tried to cross the line, I’ll destroy you. So, better pack your bags and take your leave. Logan is mine.” She yelled.
“I never claimed him. But I can see but it feels like you’re convincing yourself than telling me this.” I smiled and collected my stuff, “I am sorry but I can’t entertain you more, Ray. I have better things to do.” I said and walked past her.
“Of course, a woman with no aim in life can only do sweeping and cleaning.” She tried to mock me and my status as a housewife.
But I didn’t feel bad.
“I have done much more than cleaning and sweeping the house, Ray. If you want prove then ask your boyfriend how he got a scar on his left shoulder.” I said and her eyes narrowed.
“Tessa, do not test my patience.” She growled like an annoyed cat.
“I am telling the truth.” I walked closer to her, she must have the taste of her own medicine and I knew what could give her a good lesson.
“We were having sex against the window when he lost balance and we fell down, in order to protect me, he fell himself and had a cut on his shoulder. Let me tell you, it was one of the best sex we had in a winter night to keep us warm.”
Her pupils dilated, the expressions on her face were worth seen but I turned around and went inside the house because I felt contended.
Served her right after picking on me again and again.
Later in the evening, since I knew Logan wouldn’t be coming home, I decided to watch a movie with Lucas who was also excited. It was our routine, we were each other’s world.
“So, which movie you want to watch, Luke?” I asked as we plopped on the sofa.
“Frozen?” He suggested.
“Nope, we watched it like seven times.” I shook my head.
“Then Ice Age.”
“Sounds like fun.” I gave him a thumbs up and we played the movie on the T.V.
It was comfort to snuggle my son on the sofa as we watched the movie.
We were half through the movie when I felt a presence. To say, I wasn’t surprise, it’d be a lie. Logan was there, changed in casual clothes.
“Dad?” Lucas‘ attention shifted on his father.

“May I join you?” Logan asked his son pointing on the space beside Lucas on the other side of the sofa.
“Yes, we can watch the movie together. I miss watching movies with you and Mommy.” Lucas beamed with excitement.
Logan didn’t waste time and plopped on the sofa, Lucas gestured him to snuggle close under the same blanket. In the process, our hands brushed and the warmth I felt in a nano second, it ignited the same spark inside me.
Our eyes met for a brief second before Lucas pointed on the screen.
The father–son duo soon engrossed in the movie but my eyes kept drifting to the man sitting very close to me. The smell of his shower gel made me squirm.
“He’s asleep. Let me take him to his room.” Logan said, his eyes met mine again as he spoke in a husky voice.
I was pulled out of my trance. I felt embarrassed because he caught me staring at him.
“Okay, I’ll switch off the T.V.” I nodded and tried to move but Lucas had his arm wrapped around my stomach and his head resting on my chest.
A smile stretched on my lips because he looked very adorable but my breath got stuck in my lungs when he leaned close, our faces almost touched as he detangled Lucas from me, in the process his fingers brushed on my chest causing me to flinch.
A sensation waved down my spine but he didn’t seem to hurry up. I could see the veins under his neck tightened.
I missed the days we used to be close. There was no hesitation whenever we wanted physical intimacy.
He picked up Lucas in his arms effortlessly but didn’t walk away.
I assumed he was waiting for me to switch off the T.V. and clean up the sofa, so I quickly tidied the room and switched off the T.V. and lights before walking out, he followed behind me.
