A week had passed, true to her words, Tessa ignored me like I was a contagious plague. The only time we used to be together, it was the breakfast table and even during that time, she entirely focused on Lucas.

She started working. Although, she wasn’t working at Adrian’s main office but a new building set up for their new clothing line, the thought of them meeting often stirred my mental piece.

The truth was, Tessa had been invading my mind.

Why it had to be complicated like this?

But again, there was no answer.

“Sir, we need your signatures on these papers so we can send them to our lawyers for further legal process to seal the deal.” My secretary’s voice brought me back in the real world.

“Keep it here, I’ll review it first.” I said.

No matter how skilled and talented team I had, I always took a final check on their work.

“Sir, Ms. Raelynn called on the office line. She said you’re not answering your phone. She asked me to tell you to call her.” She added.

“Raelynn called?‘ I frowned and checked my phone, it was on silent mode since I went for a meeting.

“Thank you, Grace. I’ll sign it tomorrow because I’ll read it at home.” I dismissed her.

After she left, I picked my phone and dialled Raelynn’s number.

“Logan, where was your phone? I have been calling you since morning and you got time to call me back at four in the evening.” Raelynn complained from the other side.

“I was busy, Ray. Tell me, why were you calling me?” I asked her.

“I miss you, Logan. It’s been a week since I last saw you. I apologized for what happened that night. I was in my senses.” She repeated it for the countless times.

“And your little stunt compelled me to release an official statement. For three days my phone was bombarded with calls from news channels. You should be thanking that this news hadn’t reached to my father,” I said.

It was something which could effect my father’s health if he had found out but we took care of it.

“I am sorry, Logan. I am ashamed of what happened. I promise I’ll behave properly from next time. Please, don’t be angry with me. I miss…I miss you.” Her voice cracked in the end and I realized that I snapped at her out of my frustration.

“I am sorry, I shouldn’t blame you entirely for the scandal. Now, don’t cry.” I tried to do the damage control.

“Can you come over? I want to spend the evening with you. Please, don’t refuse me this time or I’ll think that you’re still upset with me.” She requested me something I wanted to avoid in my current situation.

“Raelynn, please, try to understand. Paparazzi could chase me and the scandal will only take a bad shape.” I tried to reason with her.

“I know, Logan but I miss you terribly. Please, even if for ten minutes, I’ll still be happy.” She begged me and I felt bad for her.

I was the one who hurt two women’s feelings.

“Alright, I’ll come over to your place but I can’t promise to stay for longer than thirty minutes. I hope you understand the gravity of the situation.” I agreed to meet her and disconnected the call.

My eyes fell on the photo frame of Lucas that I had kept on my desk. A smile spread on my lips.

“I wish I was as sorted as you, Luke. You’re never confused with your decisions.” I whispered.

I wrapped up my work quickly and drove in a different car than the one I always drive to my workplace. I had to change my vehicle to distract paparazzi if they tried to follow me.

While I was driving to Raelynn’s place, Tessa’s words kept resonating in my mind.

She freed me from our marriage vows. For her, our marriage was already over and we were married only

for namesake.
