PART- 068
Tessa
“How are you feeling?”
The voice that I had missed in months, pulled the strings of my heart.
I wanted to mask my vulnerable emotions behind a tough exterior but when his soft words reached into my ears, I felt like flyin into his arms.
“Not good.” I replied without looking up.
He had been present in the room for more than five minutes.
I left him without an answer or a chance to reconcile. I expected him to throw questions at me or accuse me but he did the opposite.
He was silently patient. The silence was so thick, only the beeping sound of monitor could be heard.
“I have looked for you everywhere in all these months. Do you have any idea how worried I was for you and our baby?”
He spoke again and it was a conversation that I wanted to avoid at any cost.
But how did he know that I was pregnant?
I slowly lifted my face and for the first time in months, I saw his face. He was the same handsome man but little stubbles on his face. His hairs were longer and tied in a knot.
Still looking charmingly irresistible but his eyes were dull. Only I could see through him.
“I gave you what you deserved since the beginning and put end to our sufferings, Logan.” I spoke, my voice devoid of any emotion.
Something twitched in those eyes.
“I suffered more imagining the worst about you and our baby, Tessa. Why did you leave? At least, I have the right to know.”
I looked away from his handsome face because the longer I stared at him, the weaker I was getting.
“You have a life with Raelynn and I can tell that you’re quite happy in your new life so let’s make peace with it. You can be a part of our child’s life. I can’t stop you but we can’t get back together.” I stated my stance in crystal clear words.
“Tessa, when did we separate? I don’t remember anything.” He said firmly.
“I signed the divorce papers it means I want to put an end to our marriage. Please, let me live my life the way it should have been. I have a job and a child now. I don’t want more complications in my life and being with you was always painful.”
I put a stone on my heart and said those hurtful words.
“I never signed them and I won’t sign them means we’re still married and you’re still my legal wife, Tessa Wilferd.” He said in a deep tone.
I wanted to snap back at him but the door opened and a nurse walked in with my baby wrapped in a pink blanket.
All the anger and resentment I felt a moment ago, it flew out of the window the moment I saw the tiny life that I had carried for
months.
My heart was beating wildly and the whirlwind of emotions blurred my vision.
“Here’s your baby, Ma’am. I’ll help you to hold her because your stiches are still fresh.” The nurse said and I nodded my head, eager to hold my precious baby.

The nurse carefully placed her in my hands and guided me how to hold her.
My heart skipped a beat when I observed her small face. She had her eyes closed but for me, she was the most beautiful baby, my baby whom I created.
“Hey, baby..” I cooed and the baby stirred in her sleep.
“Ma’am, you’re only allowed to hold her for a counted minutes due to your health. I am giving you and your husband some privacy.’ She excused herself leaving me and Logan alone with our baby.
In that moment, I forgot about Logan. My whole attention was on my little princess.
“She looks like you but she has my hair colour.” Logan spoke.
His voice was also thick and there was no doubt that he was happy to be a father again.
“Mommy won’t let any pain reach you, my baby. I’ll love you and take care of you until you grow up.” I promised my child.
“I wish Lucas was here. He’d be the happiest to meet his little sister.” Logan spoke again, his gaze was adoring our daughter who was resting in my arms.
When he mentioned Lucas, my heart sank.
I couldn’t help but asked him about my first baby whom I raised with all the love I had in me.
