“What do you mean she has given birth to a baby?” My mother blinked her eyes at me with shock morphed on her face.

“Yes, I have found Tessa. She was pregnant with my baby when she left and a week ago she gave birth to our daughter.” I told her calmly.

“Logan, this is a great news! You have not only found Tessa but you also became a father. I can not wait to meet my daughter–in- law and my granddaughter.” My father, on the other hand was elated.

The worries and the coldness I had received from him for months, it disappeared in the moment when he smiled in happiness.

“Kevin, how could you be so happy about this? That girl ran away with our son’s baby. She deceived him and our family. I can’t forgive her for this.” My mother fumed in anger.

“Mom, you won’t say a word to Tessa otherwise I can’t allow you to meet her. She faced health risks while during childbirth. Please, don’t make it more complicated for us.” I sternly warned my mother who had a habit to hurt Tessa by her rude words.

“Logan, what are you saying? If she isn’t living with you then where is she?” My Dad asked with a frown.

I exhaled deeply because I’d surely hear an earful of scoldings from him.

“She’s living with her friend. I mean at her friend’s place but I’ll soon convince her to come home. My actions have hurt her and we need some space to reflect on our actions. It’s important for our strained relationship.” I said.

There was a brief silence which my mother decided to break.

“Logan, you can’t stop me from seeing my granddaughter. Give me her address. I want to see my grandchild.” My mother said in an adamant tone.

“Mom, please, have some patience. I’ll take you to meet Lena in the evening. I know you’re angry right now and our unsettled emotions often push us to impulsiveness.” I tried to calm her down.

“Lilia, he’s right. If Tessa’s health isn’t good then we’ll visit her later. I’ll also go with you because I am more excited to meet my daughter–in–law and granddaughter.” My Dad said to my mom.

Only he could manage her temperament.

She wanted to argue more but upon receiving a stern look from Dad, she stomped her foot and left while muttering incoherent

curses.

“Logan, I didn’t say it in front of your mother because she only finds faults in your wife.” Dad looked at me with a serious expression and I knew what was coming next.

“I want to hear it, Dad because I really don’t know how to apologize to her. She’s broken deeply.” I asked my father for his help.

“Firstly, you need to answer my question with honesty and clarity of your mind, Logan.”

I nodded my head.

“You never broke up with Raelynn Cowper officially. She’s a part of your life, even in an outer orbit but she’s still close to you and if you don’t choose or reject her, she’ll always eclipse your future.”

He was right. Raelynn was still a part of my life. Although, the spark between us had died. I no longer yearned for her and kept my distance from her because I still wore Tessa’s ring.

But at the same time, I hadn’t ended it with her in a clearer way.

“Do you really think Tessa would want a relationship of uncertainty where your ex–lover would always come between you and

I remained silent.

“Logan, I advise you to leave Tessa alone until you figure out your relationship with your ex–lover. You can’t keep two women happy at the same time nor you can choose both of them. So, one of them would end up hurting. Now, you decide who’s your real happiness.”

My father’s advice was crystal clear. Everyone told me the same thing.

“Thank you, Dad. I’ll think about it and reach to a decision.” I pressed a smile.

“Logan, you’re my son and I only want your happiness. If Raelynn is the one, with whom you want to spend the rest of your life then I am giving you the freedom to divorce Tessa. At least, she’ll have her own life. You won’t be bounded by obligation.”

My Dad’s words left me stunned.
