Logan
“Logan, I was about to call you and you are here in person.”
Raelynn leaped her way towards me and pulled me for a hug. I loosely wrapped my hand around her but kept distance between our bodies.
“I was busy lately.” I said gently breaking out of the hug.
“I wanted to visit Lucas and you but you’re here so I am happy. At least, you squeezed some time out of your overly busy life and came to meet me.” She looked very happy to see me.
“Raelynn, can we talk?”
My voice was serious because it took me years to reach to this moment.
Or a decision I took in a split of second.
“Logan, what is it? You look serious.” She finally observed that I wasn’t there for a friendly meet up but for a serious discussion.
“Take a seat first, Ray because this is going to be a long conversation.” I said.
“Logan, you’re scaring me now.” She gulped and the fear was clearly visible on her face.
“Sit first, Raelynn.” I spoke quietly.
We together sat down on her terrace so we could talk properly.
“Logan, you met me after almost a month. I waited patiently because I thought you needed some space and your work also demanded your attention. But my patience is waning now. I am tired of waiting and hoping that you’d come back to me.”
“Raelynn, the thing that I want to discu-” I was interrupted by the ringing of my phone.
I looked down and it was from Tessa’s landline number. I couldn’t ignore the call for anyone.
“Give me a moment.” I said and excused myself to receive the call.
“Hello, Logan Wilferd speaking.” I said because it could be her maid.
“Your Mom is here. How did she find out that I live here?”
Came Tessa’s flat and accusing voice from the other side.
“I am coming over there. Please, be patient with her.” I said and rushed back to where Raelynn was waiting for me.
“I am sorry, Ray but I have to go. It’s urgent.” I apologized to her.
Frustration washed over her face,
“You do it every time, Logan. If you have a tight schedule then don’t come. At least, it’d not bloom hope in my heart.” She said angrily.
“I’ll meet you on Friday. Let’s go out for lunch and then we can talk without rush.” I promised her to make it up to her.
“Just leave, Logan.” She hissed.
I sighed. I came to clear things with her but a more pressing matter was waiting for me.
My mother would cross her limits with people she disliked and Tessa topped the list.
I rushed back to Tessa’s place before my mother could do unrepairable damage to my already strained marriage.

When I reached the apartment, the air was thick with tension. My mother was sitting on the sofa with a grim expression.
“Mom, what are you doing here?”
I asked my mother in a stern tone because I strictly told her to keep her distance from Tessa.
“Logan, like I would listen to you. I came here to see my grandchild whom she had hidden. I am sure she has plans to disappear with our heir.” My mother threw a sharp look at Tessa who was quiet but I could tell that lava was stirring inside her.
“Mom, shall we go home? I think you have met Lena now.” I gave her a stern look.
She rolled her eyes.
“Stop being a fool, Logan. Why can’t you get rid of these girls who are playing with your life and now your children are also involved.” She spatted.
“Mrs. Wilferd, I want you to leave my house. You have met Lena.” Tessa finally spoke.
Her face was hard and voice was flat.
“You!” My mother’s face turned red and before she could spat more foul words, I stepped between them.
“Mgm, please, let’s go home.” I warned her in a polite way.
“Logan, my granddaughter can’t live here. We’re billionaires and she is keeping my granddaughter in a coop.” My mother
huffed.
“Mr. Wilferd, even if I am not rich like you but I can keep my daughter comfortable so you don’t have to look down at me.” Tessa wasn’t ready to retreat as well.
My headache was growing.
First Raelynn and now my impossible mother.
“Mom, let’s go if you don’t want me to take my wife and daughter to somewhere else where you’d not be able to see them.” I used the last card I had in my sleeves and it silenced my mother.
“Fine, I am going but don’t think that it’d end. I’ll make sure that my granddaughter wouldn’t live here for long.” My mother threw one last, disdainful glance at Tessa and stormed out.
I rubbed my forehead and then faced Tessa. She looked displeased and she had all the reasons to feel in that way.
I turned to face her.
“I am sorry in my mother’s behalf. I swear I have no idea how did she find out your address but I promise you that it won’t happen again.” I tried to do damage repair.
